Just changed the source for my mechanical oil pressure gauge...and the pressure reading went up. Normal? (hoping so)
Back when I installed the rebuilt 2F block, I discovered that the threaded hole that was the oil pressure senders place on the LateF was not the oilpressure senders place on the 2F. So I bolted on a 2F oilcooler, just to get an oilpressure sender place...
...4 years later, yesterday to be exact, I finally got around to replacing the cooler with a normal oilfiltermount, that was tapped for an oilpressuresender. Now my (Autometer) oilpressure gauge reads 10 to 15 PSI higher than it used to.
So, is the pressure reading on a non-oilcoolered oilfilter mount higher because it comes earlier in the oilpath, or do I maybe have a piece of RTV stuck in a passage somewhere?
