Hello - Just picked up a 2000 Land Cruiser and I noticed the oil pressure fluxuates from between 1/2 - 3/4 while driving and between 1/4 - 1/2 while in idle - any ideas on why this could be happening?

Scott.

My '99 does the same thing. I believe it is normal.

Ditto. If you Search you will find this to be 'normal'.

Ditto Ditto.

:D

Ditto.

Normal and the 4.7L V8s have been found to be one of the easiest engines on oil. Very few problems outside of the starter and exhaust manifolds.

It is normal. It is a real gauge - not an idiot light sensor connected to a gauge to give the appearance of a gauge with the function of an idiot light. Some "full instrumentation" claims are less than they appear (like on my former Ford F150), whereas the LC has real gauges.

add another ditto,

Totally normal, I remember being very concerned when I bought mine with 50K on the odo, and the oil gauge going to 1/4 at idle, that was 60K miles ago, so safe to say, its all good......
