I have an Oil bath air cleaner that after sand blasting and powder coating has a few leaks (what a mess). Can I retro fit a paper element into this original oil bath air cleaner?

If not I have an air cleaner from a 1970. I am not sure opening on carb is the same. Looks to be larger than the SD40. But would it be better to use this later model?

Thank you.

Just use fuel tank epoxy to fill up the holes. I love my big man-a-fre oil foam unit - been there since the mid 80's.

My 72 has the stock big paper filter holder. I came hooked to a Rochester 2BBL - their might be a home made bushing adapter to change the diameter. The PO also installed a rod in the carb up threw the filter housing to secure it in place with a lock washer and a wing nut.

Mine is this with a few mods. I cut a V notch in the mounting bracket so I can easily get a socket on the manifold nut underneath
