I figured I better get out and say hi before its too late. Yes I've been lurking. I bought this 97 Lx 450 from Hoser six month back and its a great truck. It has a mild lift, 295 BFG AT's, lockers f/r, diff lock in high and low and 75k on it. He took great care of it. I bought it to replace my 30 year old International (its amazing how similar they are) which has taken me from Central Mexico, to Moab to the Rubicon. I'm hoping to take the LX to the same places, with out beating the snot out of it. It is amazing how capable this truck is though. I brought it to Hollister Hills and it never missed a beat. You dont need to slam on the go pedal to make it move (though more go pedal movement would be nice), you just point and crawl! Thanks for the great forum and great advice.

Holy crap, you're my long lost twin!

I was also drawn to Land Cruisers after owning a few Scouts (actually, I still own them) and yes, they are quite comparable in ability, quality and durability. I've driven my '70 the length of Baja on several occasions and have never had an issue of reliability.

I also "upgraded" to a '97 LX :princess: with lockers, in the same color, but with about 122k on the clock.

Weird....

Anyway, welcome to Mud :flipoff2:

P.S. I'll show you mine, if you show me yours.

Hey Goat, I'm glad to see your a Binder fan and not ashamed to admit it. My next truck will be an 80 or 800, they are just way too cool. Just have to find the right one. We need to get a Hollister run together for te 80's/450's. Just name the weekend (binders to).

Ok, heres the behind. Some one mentioned the land cruiser's ability to stay level when thier axles ge crossed up. The Scout seems on par with that thought.
