Anyway, now I will add my intro!:flipoff2:
San Diego native, born in the city and raised in north county (Fallbrook). Love the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and exploring, especially the desert. Always been a big Toyota 4x4 fan; owned a '92 pick up, '93 4Runner, '04 Tacoma, and now the 2000 LC. Had a short stint with a Cummins powered Ram, but the Ram just fell apart! Great motor, but everything else was junk.

My cruiser is currently the kid hauler and my wife's DD since I commute nearly 90 miles a day. Weekends are for fun, where it reports to duty as the adventure/camping mobile. Future plans for the hundy are installation of the @CruserDave "KISS" drawer system (on order!), installing air bags (been sitting in garage for months), and new suspension. Next will be sliders, skid plates, Gamiviti rack, and probably a winch bumper (Dissent or Slee). Thank you all on mud for supporting such a great forum!

Forgive the naivete, but could you explain what the @CruserDave "KISS" drawer system is? Is it a drawer that when opened plays KISS music? LOL jk, I am curious though :)

Hi All!

I’m new to Land Cruisers and the community. Just purchased a 1994 Triple Locked. I’m from Alaska and have a ton of off road experience but not in California. I am very exited to meet this community, go exploring and learn from you guys.
BTW does anyone local have an FJ80 on 35’s they would be willing to let me drive. I’m in the 33’s vs. 35’s conundrum. Already have the 2” OME.
Thank You!

Isaac.

Hi Noah,

I’d like to trail drive with friends, One buddy has a grand Cherokee and another with a 4th gen 4runner. I’d love to do light rock crawling, camping, and explore the back country. I’m looking at going with 5 BFG KO2’s so I’d have a full size spare on stock wheels (of course I’d love to go with 315’s or 37’s in a perfect world, but my friend has said I’ll loose street drivability and with good driving I should be able to go most places) my 1st upgrade would be rock sliders. I have my eye on the white knuckle. Trying to decide on the 66 1/2” or the 69”. I’m open to suggestions and would love to see a couple rigs up close with different options. Also didn’t want to over load it with weight. I am really excited to get it on the trail. It’s also not my daily.

I would stay with 285's and under a 2 inch lift. These trucks will do alot of places with very little mods. Once you go to 3 inches or more you gotta start correcting.

I started with 33" then quickly went to 35" tires years ago on an OME heavy lift, about 2.5 inches. Been running it for 10 years, but would rather go 4" lift with 35" but the cost is harder to justify since I have done every trail I've wanted with this set up. If you are looking for a more formal group with meetings etc check out the beach n toys group, we have about 10 different 80 series guys with various set ups. We meet the first Tuesday of every month in San Marcos, and do about a trip a month.

Welcome!!!

I went straight to 35's, 4.88's, OME heavy front, medium rear, on my 94. I figured for once I'd just build the truck, well once, instead of stepping up to the final configuration. It works very well. I am looking at trying the Kenda Klever's in 35X10.5's for my next set of tires. I have 315/70/17' BFG KO's presently and they are a great tire as BFGs are but they do rub when fully compressed.

I am not sure if you have checked out the Beach & Toy's club section but we get together the 1st Tuesday of each month (so next week) at Mike's BBQ in Escondido around 5:30. We do much runs.

Thanks Frank,
I’m at the tire shop now having the 315 KO2’s installed! Well I’ll be there, can’t wait to meet the crew and go wheeling!

I'd be down to meet up for a land cruiser adventure. I got an 06 LX a few weeks ago. I've just added some 33 ko2s and removed running boards other than that stock for now. I live in the pacific Beach /crown point area.

Dang you two...just missed at trip to big bear with Beach N Toys

Hey guys,

Here's my Troopy when I drove it to OR. Pretty much doing a lot of baseline maintenance, and getting it creature comforts (like a stereo in) and slowly building it into a tourer since my partner and I like to visit family in OR and UT and bring our dog and cat with us. Didn't realize until now that there's a San Diego clubhouse until now. Would love to meet up and get to know cruiser heads here once I put it back together.
