Well... Looks like I'm out for the patrol. Unless someone with the tools and time wants to come over this week and replace my pesky heater hose. Got home from Travis' house and found a large puddle of antifreeze right below my starter. Been waiting for that time bomb to go off. Just wonder why all of my mechanical breakdowns seem to come between thanksgiving and Christmas.

Bummer! Let me know if I can be of any assistance.

Please Put me down for the 6th.

David M.

Looks like its going to be another dusty year. Only the second time I can remember in the 6 or 7 years I've been in attendance. Pretty strange we haven't had any significant snow by now.

I'll be up with the family getting a tree on the 6th I'll have the radio on, but not really "patrolling"
I'll be up at least one day the second weekend, probably Saturday, but flexible.

Looks like it's going to be shorts & t-shirts weather this weekend. ???

weather.webp

Yeah...snow chances don't look good for either weekend. Long range experimental models show pretty dry until late Feb or early March. Then the hammer may come down. Enjoy the dust! Oh yeah...I'll be there the 13th!

Guys - I want to be part of this but I am closing on my house this Friday and will be in full moving swing over the next couple of weekends. Can I get some phone numbers just in case I get a half day or so to help out? Sundays might be better for me. My email address is johnbezou@gmail.com

Sent you an email. I'll be out there on both Sundays, so give me a ring. Look forward to wheeling with ya. :steer:

See updates.

Unfortunately Sam had to drop out.

Hey guys, somethings come up and I'm not going to be able to make it out tomorrow.

I will however be able to make it out both days next week, 100% guarantee.

Have fun this weekend and I'll see you all next weekend.

Fairly quiet day. Started off by moving a barricade rock back into place that someone had moved. Jeff and Dave chained it up and I drug it about 15yds or so. Later in the day we met up with Eric and family at 300U/V. Dave and I went down a side road and continued down 300 V when we saw two lost boys. Turns out it was Eric'c boy and his friend, oh the irony. They had popped out of the woods a could hundreds yards down the road from where they had parked. Farther down 300V Dave took down a hazardous tree. I left soon after that. There was a huge crowd out there. Rampart Range Road felt like a highway. Rick was a saying they had lines down the parking lot and out onto the road off and on all day, at least until about 1:30 when I left.

By the way, I am no longer the only LX in the club and I have to say, I am the lesser LX. I will let the new owner elaborate, I was thoroughly humbled on Hwy 24 when passed...

After Leon left I ran the 323/324 loop. I had to explain to the driver of a 2wd F350 that the signs that said 4 Wheel drive required, were there for when everything was covered with snow. The forest service asked us if we could help a guy whose starter wouldn't work. I hooked a strap to him and thought he gave me the thumbs up. So I started off and after 30 ft. he started honking his horn. I stopped and walked back to see what the problem was. He asked me to wait until he got the truck out of park to start pulling the truck. Oops, blush. I pulled him a ways and we got him turned around and the truck started. Must have been the bouncing of the washboard road. Happy ending to a dusty day. Rick Ellsworth said they sold about 1500 permits.

How do I pay my dues, the Treasurer won't answer my email?

As to what Leon is referring to. Just say I drive the fast LX450. The hint is in my sig line.

So better chances for snow coming up for the 13-14th. Decent looking storm setting up...still some model discrepancies with track...but does have the potential for some good snowfall up in the Ramparts...especially Saturday night into Sunday. Something to keep an eye on...

You coming up?

Sorry Dave. I honestly don't pay much attention to my email anymore. I just saw yours last night as I was deleting 1200 junk emails. Next time you see a club member just pass them a $20 or mail me a check.
