Toyota Motor Sales, USA Inc., announced manufacturer's suggested retail prices (MSRP) today for the 2006 Land Cruiser. The Land Cruiser full-size sport utility vehicle (SUV) will arrive at dealerships nationwide in June.
The Land Cruiser receives an engine upgrade for 2006 with the addition of variable valve timing with intelligence (VVT-i) to its 4.7L V8 engine. The new V8 powertrain delivers 275 horsepower, an increase of 40 over the 2005 model, and 332 lb.-ft. torque.
In addition to engine enhancements, the Land Cruiser also receives a standard tire pressure monitor system and optional hydraulic automatic height control (AHC). The new AHC system allows the driver to raise the vehicle on its suspension to negotiate particularly rough off-road terrain, and to lower it for easy entry and exit.
The 2006 Land Cruiser is distinguished by exterior trim enhancements that include a new grille, head lamps and tail lamps. Eighteen-inch high gloss alloy wheels are standard while a new rear spoiler is available.
The base MSRP for Land Cruiser is $55,815 and reflects an MSRP increase of $490, or 0.9 percent.
