I'm on my iPhone mud app but anywhere on the sub tank is the part number ? I can cross reference it to el mariachi and make sure this is in fact a 80 tank and hopefully lower my blood pressure and calm my wife down

Yes I plan to, can anyone let me know if they can obtain a sender for me? I can get one for $85 shipped but any lower would be great. I'm paypal confirmed and can pay

The tank will not have a part number on it.

Do the straps look like the ones in my photo?

Contact Yan, akella here on mud.

I have used partsouq extensively, I have yet to order from amayama though many people say it is awesome.

Also, I have a sub tank switch, brand new in the toyota baggie if you want it. It was supposed to go on my Saudi import but that has been delayed by a few years.

lp2k,
I would appreciate doing some research before calling me out on selling the tank and parts. That is an 80 tank which anyone can plainly see if they take a minute to compare Dan's post and your pic. Or google for that matter... Please take a minute to do some of your own investigating before getting bent out of shape. Ive been a member for awhile and have provided tanks to a number of guys and as far as I know your the only one complaining. Ive said this before- these are almost 20 year old parts so expect there will be some missing odds and ends. Which I did send you some $ for the missing rod. I have also stated some of these units were diesel and some petrol. Guys first in line got the better of parts in most cases. If you got a diesel sender or pickup please don't cry about it... i got one with a diesel and another with a petrol myself. I even took one of the more messed up dual fillers so I don't appreciate gripes when someone did no upfront research into the install. What you have and its applicability to your rig depends on how you decide to wire it up. You actually have a better pickup in that you only have one outlet. I had two and one was leaking after install. I would have preferred a single. As for the sender same deal these are 20 year old parts.. you may have gotten one with the 3 wire or 2 which means nothing because they could have crapped out right after install or never. I have had both situations occur.

Now Ill give you a newb pass if you stop bitching and with the slights about taking advantage of the newbie.

I pulled a sender which I thought was bad but after putting in a new one It seems like i have a wiring issue and the old one which appears in excellent condition is more than likely functional. I would be happy to send it to you but you would need to wait till the spring when i get back.

That was 9 years ago, I bet it looks different now....:hillbilly:

My fuel pump changes pitch when it hits the bottom of the tank. It's a clunky Purolator so I can hear it in the cab.

I use the same system to determine the sub is empty using a Holley Blue.

Other then changing the oil, or basic car maintenance, I'm your basic book worm. That applies to words/ numbers etc and trust. I don't know the items and they all look same somewhat .

Chris, @SWCruiser I know you had many people reaching out on this. Could something have gotten mixed up? Possibly...

I've sold on eBay and sent an iPhone 4 16gb to the person who paid 32gb and the latter the same. In the end I got both phones back and shipped them to the right people. Mistakes happen. I wasn't sure if that was the case here. Was it intentional ? No.

When Dan told me this may be a possible 100 tank, now 1/4 of the main components are compromised and near impossible to source and I'm feeling bad since I didn't examine each part as I should. I honestly looked at and chucked it back in the box. Verified big pieces and said "I'll get to it."

I appreciate you chiming in. I saw a pic of Dan and the dual filler for a 100 and said Omg I may have got the wrong item (and the 100 buyer has the 80?)

I appreciated you portioning back when we spoke about the filler knob. When I got to akella, i was able to source what I was missing (rod assembly.. slightly more but I don't care since I was ordering many things) I'm praying the straps are correct which I know they are since you chimed in and you remember packing my box. This Saturday is my first appt with my mechanic to plan the build as I got George ECU and mapped how to wire the over head gauge cluster pod. He is the labor and I'm the brains.

I'm not going oem like Jim did, I'll be using the napa pump as many others have. Using my own pig tails. What I will do different is post how I used the existing harness above the spare tire carrier and how I used it to connect to in the driver side kick panel (haven't seen many photos on that) after reading 7 threads.

Dan you gave me a heart attack lol !

Chris , thanks for reassurance

Thanks Nick, I have the switch already which I bought after getting this kit.

I simply agreed with George's SPECULATION that is could possibly be a 100 tank. We were both operating on a close-up that did not depict the whole enchalada. I then retrieved my old photos and confirmed that what you have matches my genuine 80 tank. My neck IS an 80 neck from a later model year. The 100 necks are totally different in appearance.

Thanks Dan and Phil. All of this could have been confirmed had Leon looked at the original sale post... Dan did all the work for you and as he said now twice he made a guess with little info on your part. He clearly identified that you had an 80 after he saw your full pic. Anyway, the tone of some of your posts was negative and unappreciated.. You have one tank to confirm all parts last march. What I received was a pile of tanks straps, senders pumps etc none of which were labeled. In any event you should give someone the benefit of doubt before you start complaining about someone's sales practices. if I had made a mistake I would own up to it.

Paul.

I ordered two of them. They should arrive soon. I'll give you the extra after I confirm they work.

I was hoping to verify that they are the right size and work before I posted but it looks like they will work.

With shipping fedex it's under $10 to your door.

Sorry to bring this back up from it's somewhat nasty ending, but I cannot find any way to get just one or two of these fittings. Did you order directly from Bev Kinahan at the time? I contacted her, but she told me that there is a $150.00 minimum in order to place an order with her. Any alternative sources for a T or Y reduction fitting for this application?

Thanks

This is a blast from the past. I don't even have the 80 anymore although I wish I did. Nasty divorce.

Just a thought. Call her and ask her to send one for an example. Give her your cc for shipping. Another route might be to ask her for the name of the vendor that sells these to the public? I don't think I have anymore. I'll look tonight/this weekend and post if I find one.

Thanks! I'll try her again on Monday.

I did make some progress and figured out how to install all 4 rivnuts, very proud of defeating those little f%^kers!

I'm sure you've heard this but; You know why divorces are so expensive? Because they're worth it!
