I had come across a bringatrailer.com LX450 last week that had a different steering wheel installed.

After a little sleuthing, I found the steering wheel came from an early-mid 2000’s Lexus LS430.

I found one on EBay for $100, free shipping.

It’s in WAY better shape than my wheel.

Cost less than re-leathering my wheel.

Should last way longer, as the main contact points are wood rather than leather.

It’s arriving today! I’ll check the splines to confirm fitment.

Should be able to install in a few weekends from now.

Splines will fit. Don't think the 80 airbag will, the metal where it mounts is different.
95-97 LS400s are a direct fit.
You can probably use any 98+ 100 series/LS430/4Runner/GX470 blah blah blah steering wheel with its own airbag using the Toyota adapter (09082-00760).

Received the wheel today.

It’s in HORRIBLE shape. The sealer on the wood is so bad, it would probably feel like grabbing razor blades it’s so shot. The leather is completely separating & showing the black underside. There was some creative angles & lighting going on when photos were posted for this eBay ad.

I could totally be wrong, but I don’t think our 80 steering shaft is as small as this wheel is. Could be wrong, it’s been several years since I’ve had mine off.

Thanks for the info above, I’ll look into those years and models.

You can also see on the white card attached to the wheel in the original listing photo, it says “condition 000”, meaning a grade A parts.

I’m call total nonsense on their description claims.

And they’ll make me pay for return shipping I’m sure. Nonsense.
