Got a 55w 4500k DDM kit. I put a 35w 4500k DDM kit in my Prado 120-series and LOVE IT. Decided it must be done to the 100-series as soon as it arrives.

Hi Sverige,
there was a very good thread on the best headlights bulbs on the market a few weeks ago, see

https://forum.ih8mud.com/100-series-cruisers/777109-best-headlight-bulb-market-today.html

The thread is well edited so you can read the conclusions and several useful links in the first page.

Also useful is the drawing with the simple modification needed to install these on the 100 series LC, see:

Philips HIR/9011 bulbs are available on Ebay at US $ 90 four pieces. see:

HID bulbs are not the solution, unless you change the entire headlights. There are several threads on this on ih8mud, and a lot of disappointed people

@Tuscany: I am not interested in HIR. 55w HIDs are 1/3 the price and hands down the brightest option. I live in middle of nowhere right-hand-drive Africa and couldn't give a rip about glare offending oncoming traffic. With my LHD headlight beam pattern, I am already blinding the $hit out of anyone coming at me.

Well then do the high beam mod and run high, low & fogs at same time with HID. But note some have concerns with heat in the reflector housing, if thats what you have. Just do your homework and search mud, lots of good mods for lights. Get second battery, over-sized alternate, upgraded wire-harness and light bars, they'll see you from outer-space if you don't give $hit .. and spend the $ and time.
