CruiserParts.net Landcruiser Parts This is where I got mine. They come black. Paint them with Rustoleum Machine Gray.

They look great! I guess painting would save some $ and powdercoat later. I think it's just the hassle of mounting then taking them off for PC then mounting again.

Dad just received his rims (from Olathe $650 shipped for 5) and can’t seem to get the hub caps on. Is this normal? Does it require some bending/modifying of the clips?

I take a screw driver and pry each clip inwards a bit. Leveraging against the inner part of the wheel to avoid any scratches I make being shown under the hubcap.

It's a trial and error deal, keep bending until they go on easy, but not too easy. (don't want them flying off!)

🌮 Here's a taco...

35 x 12.5? That can't be safe...

Certainly not ideal, and unsafe according to the liability lawyers for the big tire chains.

Many have run this combo over the years and I haven’t heard a single story of someone losing a bead...plenty of uneven wear due to the 5.5” rim width on such a wide tire, though.

Technically, the popular 33x10.50s on stock steelies are too wide.

I run 35x12.50s on widened OE wheels...but only 7” wide and the big tire chains won’t mount/service my tires on the 7” wide wheels.

A set of your 16s and some tall skinnies would be ideal.

IMHO no

I’ll try to sum up the issues of why you shouldn’t put wider than recommended on the rims....

The wider you go the more you move the contour of the bead inward at its base ... easier for the bead to come unseated when stressed in say a hard turn

Also you have more movement of the tire ... not enough lateral stiffness and the tire will feel like it’s rolling over it self ... however stronger sidewall tires like truck tires are ‘stiffer’ and do not move as much as passenger tires would

And lastly a smaller rim ‘balloons’ the tire and you do not have good contact ...

These issues are marginal as we can live with a smaller contact area or run a lower pressure... and the tires being truck tires are stiffer and ‘roll’ less than a passenger tire ... and... we no longer have a 33x9.5 ... soooooo we are stuck with 10.5

Video showing a wheel flexing on rim... now imagine a taller tire mounted on a smaller than recommended rim
