Any suggestions on where to start a ground wire and where to ground it?

If one was potentially not reconnected, where are the existing grounding points?

I would be more lenient on the dealership than some others. My rational is that there are not likely a lot of these 15-20 year old trucks still getting serviced at dealers. I don't think many get the experience with them at this age/mileage that many of the specialty shops get to see. There are some exceptions for sure with many supporting dealers, but I think they are the exception rather than the rule.
A few years back I took my '84 Westfalia to a VW dealer to have the a/c system repaired. It took them 3 weeks to get it figured out and then realized parts support was aftermarket and had to do some goofy things to get it working. The regretted taking my van in for certain.

I would NOT be easy on a dealer that charged you good $$$ for the first 4 visits to NOT fix anything unless they graciously offered you a refund without you having to demand it thru your credit card company. Dealerships are supposed to know everything about their brand label. They should NEVER charge you for repairs that do NOT work. John

Think it over for another year and repost your opinion then:flipoff2:

In another year I will just be crankier. It's an attitude thing I started back in the 40's.

I don't tip for lousy service in restaurants either!

Is your light still blinking? Mine does it and it drives me nuts.

My car has the "O/D off" light on after I picked it up from PC Richardson for the new radio install.
Any ideas if that could've caused the O/D light to go on? I haven't seen it flash, it stays on solid.

Hi Legend TEAM, this forum is SO informative !!!
-I have been following up for a few months now...

I own an LJ78 (Japan Import)...
-I've now also a flashing OD Light.
-I did a replacement of the front Wheel Bearing, and repaired Axle Seal
-And have the light no flashing.

Oil level for gear box is fine
The automatic hubs are engaging well
When I engage the overdrive the light comes fully on.

The vehicle drives as normal, any super suggestion ...
Please and Thank you !!!

Short update:
-I checked as well the ground wire, and it did not work.
-Is there a fuse I need to as well check that might be causing the OD light to blink?

Thank you ...

I believe your truck, being a LJ78, has the diesel engine so I am not sure if they have the same grounding setup as the petrol. Maybe post in the diesel or 70 series section(s) and someone might have a more definitive answer.
