Hi Everyone - Sorry about last month's lack of communication. It was one of those months. For the next work weekend on Oct 16th we'll be installing hay bales at the outflow ditches and digging out the outflow ditches on the trails. Pete & I will meet you at 9 am at the Uwharrie Hunt Camp. Please let Janet & I know if you'll need camping. Also, let me know if your clubs will be or won't be coming up & about how many folks you think you'll have. If you'll need shovels, sledge hammers and other hand tools meet up with Janet either Friday evening or Saturday morning (before 9 am) to sign them out. Thanks a lot everyone. See you soon. Bye - Terry

Damn they couldn't give us more that a week and a halfs notice:eek:

I'll have to miss this one. Sucks I like the work days up there

Is anyone planning to go? I am considering it, but don't want to be the only one...

Any update on who plans to attend. I'm a maybe depending on this cold I'm trying to beat.

Maybe if they updated the sign for our trail adoption commitment then participation would have more motivation :hhmm:

Greg or someone in the know have any idea what was done on our trail ? And is Wolf Den still our trail ?

Asking because as i already posted i will be up there in about 4 hours for a week.

As far as I know wolfs den is our trail..... not sure if anyone made it out yesterday.

i didn't make it, I was on a motorcycle ride that i had scheduled a several months ago. can we get these events on a calendar, so i can clear some time for them.

It seems like the problem has been the FS only letting us know a week or so ahead of time. They must think we are all in high school and don't plan things ahead of time.

We are here right now and getting ready to go ahead and head out and start cleaning it here soon. When we head over to see Janet afterward then we will menyion it again about our signs if they have not been updated yet. Forgot to bring me some locktight so got to take it easy today. Head into town tomorrow to get some for some bolts of mine that should really have it on them.

Have fun brother!

PS - Still looking for the opportunity to buy some drinks for your bothers in arms, guess I've been to the wrong bars :)

Had an interesting time yesterday. Got done cleaning and was doing the last camp site when a person came up and asked about the range. Told them why it was closed and he opened his own right there. Got out of there fast. Went and told someone about it on the way back to camp . The only really bad spot we seen was the log bridge has been destroyed. We really do need to fix up the trail if it is ours.

We chatted with some guys doing some work on Dickey Bell and they said they're pulling up those log bridges and putting real ones up. If I remember correctly the one on Wolf's Den was pulled up when we were out there in Sept.

Real ones! Where is the nastalgia in that?

Talk about a wake up call out here. This place is going thru some serious changes. I have some pics on the camera that i will post iether tomorrow or this weekend about the changes. Needless to say we drove acroosa a real bridge out on a trail and they are putting more up. Some of these trails are getting real easy right now while they are waiting till this summer to work on the rest. Some hard spots put here still but not like before. drove 90 % of t he time in 2wd.
