I just made reservations at the Slickrock Campground (435-259-7660). I'll arrive on the 7th and leave on the 11th.

I can do that, although technically you are not supposed to be able to post to this thread now...

I'm out--changed my flight to go play Cruisers, race gocarts and saw boards with my brother in law.

Shawn, or anyone else going, can I get you to haul up a troopy split-bench seat for someone to pick up in Moab?

one of us can certainly do that. I will have room only on the trailer under the cruiser.

jill mentioned to me that slickrock has a group area that makes it much cheaper too. I can call them and set it up.

Slickrock has upgraded their website so now you can reserve any campsite they have online. Now you can pick where you want to be.

Cheers

Reserved at canyon lands! picking up the sliders tomorrow and really looking forward to this trip. So Fri or Sat am, when and where to meet the non expedition group. (first timer)

I will be there Oct 7-11th. you can drop them by if you like. call first. Jill should be here even if I'm not.

other ideas for trails? what do you guys want to run? I mentioned Cliff Hanger and Pritchett for harder trails. what easier ones do people want to run? harder level ones? let's get this going!

Other than your truck, I don't think anyone has a rig that will make it in Pritchett.

I'll have to research Cliff Hanger but I think the 80's do fine on it.

they did cliffhanger last year, so I know that one should be good. Pritchett is a tough sell, I know. Have you been on it Graham?

I did it with a FJ60 on 38's, but that's way bigger than any of our 80's. the 80 with us was on 2" lift & 33's and bailed after the opener. I was on 36's with a FJ40 w/ 97" wheel base. I'd be curious to leave an anchor rig at the opener and see how far we could go. it's not nearly as bad as it used to be years ago and there's bypasses on many obstacles. I think the tough spots would be: the opener, the rock pile and bypass and the end climb out. though I can do the end and be a winch anchor.
rocker knocker was made for an 80. 'can opener' I believe has a good smooth bypass. the unnamed climb I remember should only be a problem if the rear bumper won't allow the back tires to stay on the ground(there was a little dug out hole before the climb).

I mainly wanted to put a bug in people's ear and start thinking about that one. Behind the Rocks was a scary proposition before we tried it. and we had no problems. I don't know what rigs we'll have that would be willing to attempt it. Jon's 40 for sure if he was going. Onur would try it.:hillbilly: I think Ali, Mike and Evan's 80s would be a good possibility. I have little hope that we'll actually do it, but I want to get on it again soon.

I'll bring video of Pritchett to the next meeting.

some other suggestions, we should take a partial day to Area BFE. there are short trails there and a couple play areas, where you can go easy to crazy.

Maybe a H377$ Revenge/BFE day.

I was looking at:
  • Rose Garden Hill
  • Flat iron Mesa
  • Strike Ravine
  • Poison Spider Mesa
I'd do clifhanger again.

even I won't try that one in my current rig. and I've walked part of it, it's UGLY!

What? Exactly what truck are your bringing?

Hell's Revenge isn't a problem.

oh, we were talking BFE and I read helldorado for some reason.

OK...I thought you might of gone soft on me.:princess:

It is starting to look like I will be there but taking the Tacoma and riding with someone that has an open seat. My truck is puking coolant and I haven't had a chance to find the problem. There is definitely air getting in the coolant from somewhere and that can't be good.
