I've been keeping an eye on this and hoping I can go but I've got a conflict with Scouts. It seemed like it would work out well for wimps like me, stocker friendly that is.

I'm gonna have to pass on this one as well. I'm committed to most of the last two weeks of October in No. Arizona and S.E. Utah. Ya'll have a good time.

Hey guys & gals - for those of you who are going or are thinking about going, check out the links in my post #19 on the previous page. We are being invited to participate in a run about an hour south of Sedona on Saturday. I'm up for it - see what you think and let me know ASAP so we can get included in the plans.

Looks like we'll be there Thursday night. Wheel Sedona Friday and Sunday, and hit the club run on Sat sounds ok to me.

Sounds great! The club run on Saturday is coming together, and we've got some ideas for the other days. I am looking forward to getting away for a few days.

Count me in for the Saturday Crown King run. It looks like it's trail #38 in the Wells book.

OK... almost ready to go! We're staying in Flagstaff. I'll plan on wheeling on Friday in Sedona around 9ish. I'll call you in the morning. As for the Sat trip, I might bail, it's going to be real difficult to get up at 0430 to be at the meeting point at 0630. So it might be more wheeling in the sedona area for me. As for sunday we were planing on going to the Grand Canyon, and then heading home after that. See you all there!

Sounds good. I spoke with OsoCruiser and we are also going to bail on the Crown King run. We figured we would have to hit the road by 4:30 and get up even earlier. Not a very relaxing vacation.

Give a call on Friday morning. My cell is two three eight seven two two six. See you up there!

Great. Can't wait for the pics.

I've got a few pics as well, but having a crazy busy week. I will try and get some posted this weekend. We had a good trip.

A few photos from the Broken Arrow trail near Sedona...

Ellen and I were in the 80, Kit and Linda in their 200 series (their schnauzer is Annie), and Jericho and Crystal in the BJ-74.

Absolutely beautiful scenery, and the wheeling wasn't bad either. The photos above are all from the Broken Arrow trail just outside of Sedona. We also ran the Smiley Rock trail and got into some major boulder fields toward the end of the trail. Kit rode along with me and was glad that he left the 200 series at home that day. I don't think he had the clearance needed to avoid damage.

Kit and I also ran the Home Creek Homestead trail and had some fun with that one. Some tough spots, but we made it out OK without any issues. Kit got to work his "Crawl Mode" on the 200 series. Pretty cool if you've never seen it. You select Crawl Mode 1, 2, or 3 with a dial on the dash, and then let it drive itself. You just steer and don't touch the gas or the brake. The 1, 2, or 3 sets the speed. It's sort of like the ATRAC system on steroids, but it works and works well.

Had a great time. I would highly recommend a visit to the area and I'm sure we'll be back again.

Ok so what is the point of driving then anymore? As much as I like the continuation of the LC line, its s*** like this that makes me more and more not interested in the future of the LC. Stuff like that seems like it is for lazy people or people who don't know how to drive their trucks over obstacles...

and it only cost you $2000-5000 to mod you LC and run the same trail...:flipoff2::lol:
of course, you can then run many others and have...:grinpimp:

I guess the Toyota marketing folks have decided that Americans that want a more interactive experience will buy an FJ Cruiser or get Jeep. And the ones that get Jeeps will be a small enough number they don't care about the lost business.

Or they have conceded that the Land Cruiser died with the 100 series and they don't care any more about the vehicle's heritage.
