Now that the laptop is in, will I be able to find any (ahem) cheap OBD-II type software to monitor the inner workings of my finely tuned machine? :D

Might be cool to run a log over a 1000 mile trip, and compare that to the GPS data...marking hill climbs etc.

T, there is a ton of OBDII stuff out there. Seems like every day more is hitting the market. I use an OTC Mindreader, but for the laptop just search the mighty interweb and you'll find a bunch.

Starts at $122 for a single interface. Don't know if it's the cheapest or not, but it's a good product. I've been using it for a couple of years.

This is the best $96 you can spend. I've had mine for over two years to help with tuning the tacoma's piggyback computer. This unit will do all of the common OBDII protocols as well as log the parameters. Software loads and the unit is controlled fron your laptop. :)

I have done my fair share of research on this and came up with the AutoEnginuity as being a very good product for $230. It supports all current interfaces including CAN.
