Did a search and nothing like this came up.
Ofcourse this happens when I lend my truck to the wife's sister for a week. Got a frantic call from her, "...I don't know what happened. I hit a bump and the engine is making a loud noise! Oh my God the engine light is on! I pulled over on the highway because I don't want to blow up the truck." I was surprised that she pulled over because my wife would probably keep driving.
It turns out that the 1st O2 sensor was just hanging there. The 2 bolts are still on the exhaust pipe, but the nuts are gone. That's weird. The only thing I can think of is that the PO got it replaced and they didn't tighten the nuts. The weird thing is that there is a 2 piece metal strap tack welded to the exhaust immediately behind the O2 that is missing the top. It has 2 severly corred nuts that and it looks like the bolts snapped off.
I went out today and bought a new gasket and nuts from the Stealer.
Is this normal? Has it ever happened to anyone?
