I think it’s clear that more concerning than rust is that blue carpet.

Crazy good price if it’s not a scam

@johnnyG yeah.. not sure what that is about, carpet looks pretty bad (also why change it?). Also worried it might be a scam, price smells too good to be true, but usually scams don't give VIN and undercarriage shots from my experience. However, no geo tag on images which is somewhat suspect perhaps. I'll see if I can talk to the seller.

Well, good deals do happen. Hopefully the carpet wasn’t rotten from flood damage, but if Carfax promises to buy it back...? But the fact that it wasn’t replaced with a nice gray carpet makes me thing a crazy person owned it and this cruiser was how they disposed of people they killed. But, at that price, prolly worth the ghost haunting.

Seller does not have title. When asked about coolant system service & leaks, bodywork, paint, Timing belt, wheel bearings service, PM in general, etc., Seller stated none done.

But yet that is new RH headlight. Rag in engine compartment and not OEM radiator, upper rad hose or upper or lower rad hose clamps or OEM rad cap. This has had a coolant issue, without a doubt. No signs of Time belt done and seller confirms not.

Toyota only has 2 service entiers.
It has some coolant work at minimum, which at miles and age is a red flag.

Carpet and seat redone. ???

I'm not saying bad deal. Just be careful.

Posting in mud if you're looking to buy. May not be best idea. ;)

I also asked if any check engine light every while he's owned. He said no lights. Based on carfax I can see that is not the case.

If in my backyard, I go look & inspect. But as a long distance buy, without title in hand. Well, I don't like inconsistencies!

This was not even a smokin deal to begin with, just a decent price for a moderate miles 06 LC with some cosmetic issues. Based on what folks have unearthed on this thread alone concerning mechanical inconsistencies and title issues - this is likely overpriced.

I live one state away from this and I am on the hunt for a 100 series - but I won't even bother pursuing this one.

Thanks @2001LC, very helpful! Those are things I didn't catch.

True, but have been helped a lot by the forums so far, so am OK if another member would have swooped in for a deal, I get the lessons for free :)

Makes sense, it sounds fishy. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Craigslist hunting is a slog.
