I de-smogged my '82 60 about six months ago. I was pretty thorough. Used the diagram thats floating around and plugged the air rail, removed/plugged the EGR etc etc. etc.
Is there something I need to do to the distributor and/or the carb?
Its running 100 X better than before the desmog but still running a little rough. What else is neede for a SUCCESSFUL DE-SMOG???

Did you reroute your carb vacuum lines as depicted in the Jim C. diagram? Clean up or replace your spark plugs, adjust your ignition timing and valves. Retune your carb.

I used the Rich Adams diagram. Is this the one you mean???

Yes the rich adams diagram is sometimes credited to me. But disseminating information about disabling a federally mandated emission control device is a felony, so I had nothing to do with that.

If the vehicle is desmogged properly, it is not running rough because of the desmog.

It is running rough because:
the carb is lean because of dirt buildup,
or the everpresent manifold vacuum leaks are making it lean,
or there is a burned/misadjusted valve
or the plugs and wires are shot,
or...
