think someone has a ranger friend/neighbor or something that could get some info on that. Was that you Bart?

for that trip we did not need a permit, but stick to the trail. Supposedly its better marked now. That was the trip with tickets.

Yeah, that was Mitch Goldman whom some of you know. I talked to him about this before, and he really did not have much to add other than stay on the trail. But I don't believe a permit is required at all.

ok, so who went on the last one who can provide some suggested meet up places for breakfast, pre-trail fueling, and trailhead directions?

are there any offshoots that we could explore this time as well? Maybe some play areas? Legally that is, i was in the ticket group in Feb.

Hey guys,

I'm in if you are coming down to the GWNF.

Since everyone is coming down from NOVA I would recommend meeting at the Sheets on 33 just west of the 81 exit (or Cracker Barrel if you want to come down this far for breakfast).

The ride through H-burg via 33 can be a bit tricky if you have never done it before.

I would also recommend the same trail that we did last time. Meadow knob should have great views this time of year. Hopefully minus the tickets.

Just my suggestion

It sounds like fun ill see if i can get matt and bob bascom to come too. i have some baby swampers and a new exhaust now.

Not a "CLCC" event, just some people getting together to drive in the dirt and eat some food. :D
Anybody is welcome, even a heep or a truck with baby swampers. Mostly service roads very mild.

I have three packs of ball park franks i can bring if people would like. They PLUMP when you cook them;)

Steve,

Will the trails be "pin stripe" free? I'd like to bring the 45 but I risk a slow and painful death if I scratch it.

My 100 fit without a scratch last time. Should be no problem for a 45 as long as we do the same loop. Steve/ Tracy, are there any spots that are a little more challenging to explore, or some good "play" spots?

Bob got all exited when you said "They plump when you cook them".

Just Dictum Ridge which is in a different area and may be closed. Salt Shed (AKA Dry River Run) has been closed for a couple years now.

You need to come back for a winter run. A little bit of snow changes everything.

?

Well guys i am not familar with the area, i know the loop we ran last time was wide open. No trail strips not even 4wd for most of the day. As far as more challenging i am not so interested. Last time i tried more interesting it cost me and everyone that followed me 225 bucks. So i am just fine with nice, wide ,easy ,clearly marked trails.
