CRAP! I can't keep track. So are we doing 3 front axle rebuilds and a Spring lift? I wasn't planning on comming but it is only a bit over 2 hours and looks like some hands are going to be needed.

Mike (Axle)
Brian (Axle)
Steve (Axle)
Brett (lift)

I'd like to see a front axle rebuild but I would like to help Brett get that lift on (Selfish reasons mainly becuase it will look bad ass). That and I know I can do that and actually be helpful.

Not sure how much driveway space is there but I can bring some air tools if someone has an air splitter so we can run multiple tools off of gregs air compressor. I could bring mine but it won't fit well in the cruiser if I bring that. I could also bring my hose if there is another compressor there. I will bring my small plumbing torch as well to help out.

Just let me know what I can bring.

Mine is totally optional, honestly. I can wait no problem at all. I will be there though!

Brett, if you have the bushings then bring those and the springs and we can decide on site if we want to tackle it, I have on-board air so that could speed things up and means we could also do it pretty much wherever.

That sounds like a great plan!

can i get some suggestions on what i should bring other than the front axle kit? Are there other minor parts that have a tendacy to break or worn out? what about the grease, paper towel, cleaner, etc?

Grease for the birfs valvoline palladium, grease for the wheel bearings mobil one.
towels and cleaner, lots of both is a good idea

print out of the FAQ section covering axle rebuild made it nice not to grub up the laptop

I'm gonna snag as many knuckle studs/cone washers as I can to replace at least the lowers, if not all... Then I'm going to be a loctite fiend! I'm NOT having any of them loosen up on me anymore!

When you all rebuild your front ends do you pull the knuckles as well? Is anyone replacing the Trunion Bearings (Ball Joints) and the wheel bearings and seals?

Just wondering. Mine need to be done. I just did my F-250 and it was a pain. Would love to do watch these done once as they look a lot different.

make sure it isn't your caster bushings that are worn out, on a previous vehicle I had this problem and it related to inadequate control arms and worn out bushings. With that truck being wheeled like it has I would be surprised if that is contributing to it.

Jason - sounds like you just need to start a plan to replace everything from the bushings to rebuilding the front end. It should 'hopefully' get rid of the wobble and get you a head start on PM.

Once you replace those bushings then they shouldn't need replacing as long as you own the truck.

yeah, i got the disposables, any recomendations on extra hardware?

If possible, I would recommend a spare inner axle seal and spare inner wheel bearing seal. Both of those are press fit and if anything happens during assembly (bent, spring comes loose, etc.) it is handy to have a spare. Most of the nuts, bolts, studs, etc. in the job are fairly durable, so there shouldn't be a need for any spares, unless they are missing or broken somehow. I would recommend cleaning the area around the knuckles beforehand with a degreaser to get rid of dried grease, dirt, mud, etc.

Having just said that, are you planning on rebuilding the axle on your truck with the front end damage? If that is the case you might want to degrease everything and take a look for any possible damaged nuts, bolts, etc., or anything loose. Just a thought.

I should have extra inner axle seals, since I purchased the marlins...

x2 on this Jason but a bad panhard bushing can also be the culprit. I'm still chasing mine down as I get more $$ I replace more things. I'm in the process of collecting front control arm bushings.
To make it go away temporarily set the toe out a little more than it should be.

I shall do that with the toe. I'll check the alignment with a tape measure tonight to see how close I am. I don't mind a little bit of wandering as long as I don't have to worry about that darn wobble.

Yeah same truck. I had the vehicle inspected for any additional damage other than body panels. I haven't been able to find anything. I have been driving the truck for a couple of months now and the only thing I haven't put on is the bumper. I have a guy fabricating one for me, just hard to link up our schedules.

It would help to have a couple more sets of eyes check it though.
