Unfortunately I cannot make this meeting/HAMOM. I have 2 spare inner axle seals if anyone needs them, Ramon has my 54mm socket if it's needed someone can pick it up from him. I also have 2 clips for the outer axles-birfield if they are needed.

Have a great time! My only consolation is my in-laws will be here and my mother in law is the best cook on the planet. :)

Got all my stuff except the studs. Does it make sense to try and switch them all out to the new style or just loctite the old ones back in? Couldn't find Palladium as Al had reccomended so I got Valvoline DuraBlend (I think, don't have the tub in front of me, but it's moly grease). Got 4 tubs and a tube of it, one tub of Mobil 1, cans of brake cleaner and PB, towels and rags. I'll see if I can snag a box of gloves from work... I've got lots of large buckets for cleaning parts and catching grease... I have no special tools, so I'm hoping everyone else is bringing those!:grinpimp:

Palladium is normally a NAPA thing and often they have to order it

I might have some im my garage still

I have a spare tube of Palladium. The keep it in stock at the NAPA in Durham.

Keep in mind that the moly is only for the birfs. The wheel bearing and hub get Mobil1 or similar non-moly. I don't know what's special about the Palladium, is it synthetic? I used the Durablend when I did mine. You might want another tub of Mobil1, but you have plenty of moly.

I would also take the opportunity to drain/fill the diff, so if you do, get some fluid for that (recommend Mobil1 also).

What are the new style knuckle studs? Do they have torx on the end to tighten? You can always switch them later if desired or the loctite doesn't hold. I didn't loctite mine, but they have not loosened (that I know of).

Palladium has a the percentage of moly that has been recommended on many of the rebuild threads, Durablend doesn't that's most likely the only difference between the two.

Yep, moly for the birf, Mobil 1 for the bearings. I'll pick up an extra tub of the other grease. What's the approximate volume of the diff? I saw pics in the threads of people using 4 of the small bottles of Mobil 1, but that seems like it wouldn't be enough...

As for the studs, yeah, they would be the newer style with the torx head. I figured since we had it torn apart, I would switch them out, but that was merely for piece of mind. I have only had problems with the pass. side since it gets the most force, but it has been missing one stud since I noticed the steering was off. We'll find out if it's broken inside or just missing when it's all cleaned up.... Al says he has a replacement just not sure if it's ready to go or not :)...

PDR will not likely happen. I have finally spoken to him but I did not get a sense of confidence when he said he'd check his schedule and get back to me. I understand hes picked up doing all the work for some premier dealerships and is much more busy.

Hopefully it could still be an option for a future time.

So, where do I need to be Friday night? I'll leave shortly after work, and probably get up to you guys around 8ish. Just need to pick up my new knuckle studs, then I'm good to go...

Well, I haven't paid for them yet... I think the total is going to be around $60 with the washers, nuts and all...

I'm not going to see him again. So most likely its a wash right now. Just get them from your source

Anybody else headed to this meeting from the Triangle area besides Greg and myself? Clint? Jerry? Robert? Thinking we can carpool, or at least caravan Saturday morning.

Guys I will be driving and taking the 80, if anyone wants to ride let me know, only catch may be that I leave friday night to help the guys with the teardown to speed things up for Saturday.
