From the road...
Well we met in Greer yesterday and those present were, myself, VP, Secretary, Events, Past President (guidance etc...) and a newer member so in my book we had a quorum. We discussed the bi-monthly meetings, and that is a go we just need to settle on a spot to have them in Greenville. This will start in November and will be bi-monthly from then on out. As soon as a spot can be secured (one idea is to do it at Ralph Hayes Toyota) a date will be given, most likely a Saturday.
We discussed events, and decided we needed were going to do 2 large events GSMTR and MLK Run, we will be working on the MLK details as soon as humanly possible. If anyone has any ideas feel free to toss them out. One of the possibilities is Windrock and staying in Gatlinburg/Knoxville/Lafollette TN etc... The room would be the attendees responsibility, but the food and more important the booze would be provided by UC (well the booze would be from a donation by a member)!!! VERY NICE!!!
GSMTR is going to be big this year, and well it should be, it is the largest event east of the Mississippi, and we should showcase it. With that being said we are looking for a committee to help Josh and Rick with the details as it is too big for one or two or even three people to handle, if you are interested contact me and i'll make it worth your while.
In closing we had a good time with good food (thanks Anestis!) and got some accomplished. I think we have a good crew with good ideas, and we are gonna have a great year!! Get excited! this is your club we are just facilitators, if there is something you want to do post it up! As long as it ain't illegal we'll do our best to help make it happen! Everyone should have my e-mail address and i'm pretty good at getting back to you quickly, so if you have any questions concerns or comments feel free to shoot me a line.
