The Header/Shackle reversal problem continues:

The customer service rep told me, in a fairly confrontational tone, that he's worked at SOR for 16 years and has NEVER heard of this issue with their header. He basically told me I had some unique shackle reversal setup that is causing the problem. He then told me they would NOT take it back because I tried to install it. I even suggested they not refund my full amount, and sell it used. They said no.

Nice Spector, real Nice.

Just thought everyone should hear my less-than-stellar experience with SOR.

ALSO, if anyone wants an SOR 2 piece header, and y-connector pipe, I'll sell it at 20% less than the CLUB price.

They are unfortunately a necessary evil.

agreed.

I think in actuality, it wasn't the fact that they would not take the header back, but rather the way they made it seems like I was a moron, and didn't know what I was talking about...

oh well...such is life.

sucks man but when working on modified trucks most every product that i have installed had to be some what modified to work right/ look right, its just how it is my advise is to just make it work, where there is a will there is a way.

just my 2cents

On the other hand- they sold me a used oil cooler for $634 less than (new)at the dealer and it worked as promised. I think...

A few months ago I was going to place an order worth over $1000. I was getting the split case parking brake conversion and was going to get some stuff stuff too. Man-a-fre was cheaper for the kit but if I joined the "Club" it was going to be cheaper over all due to the size of the order. When I called they jacked up the price from $500 to $800 because they had 3 left and weren't going to order any more and it was no longer eligible for the club discount. Needless to say I placed my order with Man-a-fre.

Something similar happened with me, albeit for a much smaller part and price, but just the same it turned me off :meh:

Ya man, I totally agree. Old Trucks+Mods=nothing fitting exact. Like I said earlier though, it was more the poor customer service that made the whole deal so bitter. For example, when the guy said, "I've been working here for 16years and I've never seen this come across my desk...but I'm not calling you a fibber or nothin', but I just can't believe nobody has brought this to our attention.

SO in other words, he basically stated I was lying.

Anyway...I'm over it...I will now only use SOR as the VERY last resort...

the first indicator that you are talking with a technical moron is when they feel the need to give you their resume.

That's the point where they realize they aren't impressing you through normal conversation and attempt to get that through bravado.
