According to toyotapartsdeal it will fit. 72-80 models.

I'm pretty sure this was also used for the 78 FJ55 but not completely sure. If anyone knows for sure please let me know.

Doesn't look like it's specified for the FJ55. I imagine the inner travel of the fuel gauge float may differ for different tanks. The subject part no. is 83320-60050. I purchased one of these. It was a perfect match.
