That's one thing I really like about it out here. You can pick and choose what you feel comfortable doing. Most of the places I take people to are 100% accessible by stock trucks (brought a bone stock Tacoma out there a few months ago) via maintained fire roads, but what obstacles you attempt at the fun spots are up to you.

And trust me, it is much better to be stock and go with at least one other vehicle than to do a bunch of modifications and go out solo. Plus, it can give you a good baseline on how much any mods you may want have improved your performance.

Thats great advice. I'm definitely looking forward to meeting up with a bunch of people.

This is why you bring friends or get a winch lol. 99.9% of the puddles here may be shallow and solid on the bottom, but every now and then one has been dug out by some guy on 40s that will leave all 4 tires of your tires off the ground.

One solid yank and he was out and on his way. He was very happy I happened to be passing by.

Wharton? Would love to set up a trip through there sometime.
Same general area as Wharton, just a few miles northeast.

Funny it should happen to one of the new Broncos! Guess he didn't get the Sasquatch edition with factory 35" tires.

Love me a pine run. Haven’t been down in a while.
Forgot to post some pics of our last Northeast excursion (in this thread) with @Roody in northern NJ/southern Ny boarder.

Your pictures make for quite a contrast with all your deciduous trees being all bare.
We don't really have that in the west. All our forests are evergreens.
Looks like fun times!

Evergreens make for softer landings lol. Wait till the fall runs start happening, you will really be jealous of our colors, but id take the wide open spaces y'all got any day over these tight trees.

Alright guys…starting some prelim planning for my NE trip this summer. Brother is in Portland and friend in Boston, friend has a 100 series and we are looking for at least a few 1-2 day excursions. Thanks for any info!

Where you starting from?

Oh yeah, and here is a video of Roody sliding down the section I got stuck on going up!

Man, there was some good pucker factor on that one! Video doesn't show how steep it is... never does. Like sliding down ice. No way any of us were making it up that.

@evolute are you trying to do more technical stuff or fire roads?

I live Jacksonville, Fl, but will rendezvous at my friends in Boston and then make my way to my brothers in Maine. So basically looking for trails/trips in between these two, but also willing to travel around a bit.
You into camping? What’s the capability of your rig? You seem to be leaving out a lot of options by only considering Boston to Maine, on your way from FL to MA there is a lot you will go through… but just thinking about the North East, look to VT, also the north Maine woods.

Totally into camping! Rig has a 2” lift and 32’s, so fairly capable. It did all the popular Colorado/Utah trails last summer. The trails and excursions is only part of the trip, my wife and kids are flying up to Maine to hang with cousins and such, hence that general area.

Portland, Maine. You westerners think there is only one Portland.
Yep, and there's only one Newport (California) too! :p :smug:
