Totally into camping! Rig has a 2” lift and 32’s, so fairly capable. It did all the popular Colorado/Utah trails last summer. The trails and excursions is only part of the trip, my wife and kids are flying up to Maine to hang with cousins and such, hence that general area.
Most good spots have little info, are boarderline legal and fairly guarded. Majority of sanctioned areas are tame dirt roads. I enjoy Bald Eagle State Forest in central PA, great camping, decent legal “trails” that you can get a map for. Like I said above, Vermont has a plethora of forest roads and dispersed camping, even class 4 roads that offer some better wheeling, same in NH, but they are called class 5 I think (could be reveresed). Maine has to have some good spots, maybe someone from that zone will chime in. I spend a lot of time up there but haven’t gotten any off-roading in yet.
If you want to come through NY/NJ I got some areas I can point you towards.
