Alex,

not sure what time you and Jason plan on heading out, but I was planning to leave here with Steve around 8-8:30. If you guys want to ride together that's cool. I know you have more company riding with that may take you a little longer to get up in the morning. If you're planning to be on the trails by 11 maybe we can get down there and set up camp and meet back at the outpost to ride out by 11. give me a call if that changes and we'll see you there.

Hope everyone has a blast it is killing me that I am not there........ this is the first UC event I have missed since joining :frown:. I will see everyone at MLK

take some good video and pics

We hate that you can't make it too. I plan on taking lots of pics and some video. I 'll send them to you guys monday so you guys can post them up.

cool. Leaving right now. See you all there.

Sunday? Anyone going sunday?

sorry we did not reply Logan. Stacy and I camped at arrowhead with Bill so we had no access to the internet. Jason did come down and saw you at the outpost this morning but you pulled out before he could catch you.

Yea, he told me...I feel bad for not seeing him (maybe he shoulda tried the horn ;) ). I had fun again today, as I hope everyone else did, and am surprised at the small number of people who were on the trails!

Damn this weekend was great!

Who's got the photos? Some are over here, but I didn't recognize anyone in the photos.

Edit: Ok, I recognize Alex's and I think Jason's in the second post (panorama shot). I guess Alex took the roof rack off?

Looks like a great day for wheeling.

Second EDIT: Ok, found the other thread with pics--AWESOME!

Yes, i took my roof rack off for several reasons...one being it had a few rusty spots where screws and bolts were so i wanted to paint those areas, second being i wanted to use my sunroof a little and with the rack it was a horrible experience with the sunroof open, third i wanted to try some harder lines and was worried about the weight up top.

if I had a complaint about the weekend at all it would be the temperature. I love the idea of camping with everyone and hanging out telling stories (exaggerations) by a campfire, but I wish we could do it a couple months earlier when we can enjoy the weather a little more. Maybe Sept / Oct or something like that. We could always have a last gas run prior to URE closing like this past weekend. I think the turnout for camping would be greater if the weather were warmer. I know alot of guys start breaking their trucks down to get them prepped for the spring runs and maybe we could get this run in before they do. But once again, it was a great trip and can't wait to do it again.

It was cold at night / early am. It was really cold last year and though I didn't think it was possible, it was even colder this year. Charlotte and the surrounding areas set 3-4 records over the weekend with the cold snap. 14 degrees was our low!

Changing the dates for the "dual club" trip is worth considering. Earlier in the fall would be nice but it's hard with so many college football fans in the club.

Maybe in early spring a weekend or two after it opens back up could work?

The thing that I would change is the crowds. Being the last weekend that it is open tends to bring everyone out of the wood work. Too many people IMO.

very good point. I did feel rushed on some sections. Luckily we were back again on Sunday and could take out time. Jason got a couple runs on different agles up Kodak which was nice.
