Just had my first small road trip on my new to me 09 lx570 and was wondering what temps you guys were seeing on your 200 series while cruising on freeway? Conditions were 85°F outside temp cruised around 75-80 mph the whole time, coolant temps were between 192°F - 202F°. Just was comparing to my 100 series and the 100 series never really ran over 195°F no matter the conditions.. used an OBD2 Bluetooth adapter with Torque App.

Btw, I did have Air conditioner on the whole time

I'm in the same range as you, nothing to worry about.

I used to see above 195°F on hills as the torque converter would unlock, which obviously builds tranny heat like crazy, so that would increase overall temps in the radiator, and bump the coolant temps up a few more degrees. Now with 4.88s, my torque converter stays locked most of the time, so my coolant hasn't gone above 193°F in some time.

Pretty sure that's normal. I'd wager even if you were in Moab last week grinding away in the heat...it would stay in about that range.

Well guys, the reason why I had my eye on the temp gauge this whole time and also used my torque app to monitor it was because when I first brought home the truck, the coolant reservoir was empty.. I then checked the radiator and that needed water too. Hmm... I looked for any signs of coolant leaks and found nothing.. However, along the passenger side frame rail I found dried up coolant that had seeped down from engine compartment... I checked records that come with lx and had found that the thermostat had been replaced last year. So I topped off the radiator and resvouir and hoped for the best.. Yesterday we had a good 2 hr drive and as soon as we got to our destination I looked underneath the rig and sure enough there was a nice little puddle of coolant.... After reading a bunch of threads I think I have a leaky waterpump... Oh well, time to start wrenching and get intimate with our new lx..Any advice helpful hints from forum members that have done this job would be much appreciated....

If it's 104 or 4 degrees. My temp is the same. I do not get a temperature number on my 2013 dash.

I don't know of our LX has the temp numerical reading either, I was using a Bluetooth obd2 adapter and Torque app on phone...

Yup

Starting a new thread as waterpump is not leaking...mystery coolant leak
