Discussion has already begun on that other board and the Birfield 55 list.
Talking about late August, taking suggestions for location...
If you've got a Pig (or anything close), pay attention and air your views!
This will be the 6th annual event, the eyes of the world will be upon us.

Date and location have been established...
Deer Valley, 8/26 and 8/27.
Make yor plans accordingly.

That same weekend I am leading my club (Gettinoff 4x4) on a run to Swamp Lake. If anybody wants to join us they are welcome. I will be driving the Wrangler though. But we have about a 50/50 mix between Toyota Guys and Heep people.

Wow, that sounds fun. Where is that exactly? Will this be a camping type get togethor?

Ah the internet, got my questions answered. I have always wanted to try that trail. Looks like a blast. Me and the piggie will join you, maybe the wifey will come too

As long as a pink panty (LX 450) on 33's can make it, I would love to go. Have been meaning to do that trail for a couple of years. I just can't remember the difficulty, no armor yet, so I still have to be careful.

Deer Valley usually rates a 3 or 3.5 (5 scale) but of course that changes year to year. I used to run that trail all the time in a LWB, IFS, Toy P/U with 31s and one LSD. There will be a few spots where you will need to be careful but you should do fine especially if you remember your 4Runner days :D

I wonder how close a 4Runner is to a Pig, that has always been my favorite trail and I seem to have that weekend free. :bounce:

Sorry calicokid, I was planning on going but was forced to go up to Mammoth instead. Sometimes it is nice to get out of you own neighborhood. I'm already exited for the pig run, thinking about just turning it into a 2 week vacation around the Sierras. Now how about someone finding me a clean 2F to replace my f145 that has such poor compression a child can turn it over by hand.

No worries mate pig run sounds grate saw a bunch of Indian art out there last week in mojve lots of it and more trail time is always best sierras I've never Ben there but love to explore

Pig Run

don't have a pig, the closest thing I have is a mini or my 80. I like to join you guys if you don't mind.

No Pig either

If u guy's don't mind having a 60 in the ranks, that is, if I feel my rig will be in good enough shape by late August. Running with the pigs would be great!

Dumb question: there's a chance my pig might be ready for wheeling by then, but I don't have any self-recovery equipment. Can somebody who has wheel'd this before tell me if I'll need it or am I okay without for this trail?

Thanks,

Jeremy

I hate to be joining in the converastion so late but nat and fj55-100 specificaly but all you other guys too, Are you no longer coming to Swine-o-rama on 8/18/06 - 08/20/06? Granted NorCal pig run is the next weekend. I just dont want to miss out on all the Cali guys coming in.

If it is the same as my old DeLorme book from 1986, it is on page 90, lower left corner.

Otherwise the trailhead is at:

38* 36.467
119* 55.521

Can't miss it :D
