.. I like it. Here's another pic for those that care.

I like it very much ....... although I probably do not qualify to be a purist anymore. At least I kept it all Toyota - does that count ? :hhmm:

Thanks.... and yes, it counts. Mine is 99% Toyota. I kept any parts that I changed. Like the turn signals and the center console. With a little red paint it could be returned to 100% stock. ....... but not by me!

Earth-tones are good, even if it's not a toyota color. Even primary colors can work. Neons, quit sniffing glue.

Yeah, I'm partial to red (a primary color), but earth tones do have a certain appeal.

Beautiful cruiser you have there. It reminds me of the color I'm thinking on my '72 FJ40 which is Boxwood Green. It was used on early broncos along with some other Fords from the late '60's/early '70's. I've restored a few early broncos in the past so get to "cross reference" via paint the two so to speak.

It's either Ford Boxwood Green or Toyota Spring Green. This thread makes me lean more towards boxwood out of spite :hillbilly:. They green goes really well with the off white (Wimbeldon White for Ford) you used for the bezel/hardtop.

Those colors on the Bronco look great! I think it is hard to go wrong with green though... I lean toward green whenever possible.
I do prefer a non-metallic paint on these old trucks. For my taste... it looks best.

The color, no matter what it is, does not take anything away from the vehicle. Paint it any damn color that makes you happy!
I don't know about you, but there isn't anything subtle about my 'cruiser.

Earl Scheib silver, bought it that way. It's kinda grown on me. I think I'm going to try to get close in a Toyota color when I go to repaint it:

I'm thinking something like Galactic Grey Mica

When i restored mine I could have repainted it the original Freeborn Red. It would have been a lot less work. My problem was that i really didn't want a red truck...... I wanted green. If i had known about Nebula green ( a Toyota color) I would have used it. Instead, I went with a color that I liked that I thought would look good on this vehicle.
I'm usually a purist with this sort of thing..... but in this case I decided to try something a little different. I like it. Here's another pic for those that care.

My favorite by far! And possibly out of all of them on mud.

I posted mine earlier, but I painted it again last year. It's now Krylon Flat Khaki. Whats nice about the color is it looks the same whether I wash it or not.

my 40 is desert sand (military color) and black frame and detail , but i think one day it going to end up monochrome ,wheels, frame, bumper and all ,just like those non cruiser military rig

I did the monochome look. body, frame, rims, shocks, everything is desert sand from here: https://www.armyjeepparts.net/p-2289-30277-lusterless-desert-sandust-1-gallon.aspx
If I want to touch anything up, I dont need to worry about overspray.
