No relays for blower motors?

Re wiring my blower motors

I was always planning on adding a relay for the blower motor. But as I look at the switches, and wiring diagram it appears there is a power in and two power outs- hi and lo, on the switches (3 wires). And no relays. Is this correct? Does it matter the wiring diagram I looked at was for a '71 and I have a '69?

Would love to hear from some of you who re-used your original switches and motors.

the heater motor and wiring is the one thing ive had few problems with .its simple plug and play why complicate it.?

No relays used or needed. The heater blower on my 71 only pulls 3 amps and is wired with 18ga wire. That measurement was taken after taking the motor apart and lubing the sleeve bearings.
