I have a 2005 Lexus LX 470 w/ 267k miles on it and I’ve owned it about a month now and I replaced the the oil pressure switch by the oil filter but that didn’t fix the dash gauge. It still doesn’t move and I ran a test light from the negative post to the plug and didn’t get a signal either. Any ideas? This is now my daily driver and I don’t want to lock it up.

Chances are good your gauge has konked out. Google Tanin for your cluster.

Solution
Before going big, reset your cluster wiring plugs. There are 2 screws that seat the cluster. Just loosen, then retighten. This may freshen up the connector contact points.

NB: I have never done this, but method came to my attention while researching intermittent speedo failure.

I tried to remove the cluster today but my telescopic motor doesn’t work so I couldn’t get the cluster all the way out but I did put it back together correctly and the oil pressure gauge still did not move.
