No power to climate control - 99 LX470

Apologies if this has been discussed - I couldn't find this. This was intermittent at first, now it's dead more than it's on. It's like there is no power to any of the climate control. Display is off. No buttons respond. Including the defrost and rear fan buttons. Clock section works. It will occasionally turn itself on after I've been driving for a few minutes.
I was hoping it was in the controller in the dash so I rolled the dice on a used unit from ebay but still have the same problem. So unless the one I got is also broken, it's deeper in the car.

I'm having similar issues in my 2000, so I'm curious to see if there was any resolution here.

Sending my climate control off to be refurbished this week. If that fixes it, I will let you know.

After removing it and reinstalling it a couple of times, it's been working. I think it was just the connection at the back of the unit. I don't know if there's corrosion or something, but so far it's been ok.

For early model LC’s, the connection can be an issue. A handful of threads on the “Pin 60” problem. Got mine refurbished via the guy behind this ebay posting/shop. It was fast and straight forward. My knob, buttons, lights and LCD screens were dead or dying and he brought it back to life. No issues since (even driving 1200mi through that brutal storm last week). If you're still having issues, I'd suggest dropping him a line.

I just had the same guy on eBay refurb mine. I will also vouch for him. Plugging the panel back in and testing all the buttons and finding they all worked like new was one of the most satisfying moments of baselining my 470. They were really really bad before.

It worked for a while and now it's dead again. I'm losing power from the car somewhere. Anyone know where I can find a wiring diagram that shows those plugs and where the power comes from?

OK y'all, I have a theory and so far it's working. Almost all of my driving is in 1 mile trips. The climate control was working when it had been driven on a long trip but quit working when I was just driving in town. So I cleaned some corrosion off of the terminals and put a charger on the battery and right now it's working. I guess the battery is a little low on voltage from the short trips and the climate control is sensitive to that (?). Anyway it's working with a full charge. The battery is also about 5 years old so I may preemptively replace it.

Hi so I am having a similar problem. My 1998 lx470 has been having similar problems with the climate control unit too. It is dead most of the time and comes on sometimes. I had the control unit rebuilt and had the module on the rear ac checked and was told that all of the contacts were good. Does anyone have a wiring diagram or schematic for the back of the unit or any other suggestions to look through?
