Hey Guys,

Really should have checked in here earlier as it seems there is a lot of confusion as to the future of Ironman 4x4 in the US and North America.

We aren't leaving the US! We are currently going through a restructuring of our North American operation, and during this time our stocks are going to be tighter, but I can assure you we plan to stay in the US and continue to sell our products to you!

If anyone has any questions, please feel free to shoot me a PM. I'll do my best to answer any questions you have. (I'm located in Australia so there will likely be delays in me replying).

Cheers,

Ironman 4x4

good news! :)

Wow, I just got my 2" Ironman about 3 weeks ago for our 94. Netted me 2.75". Love the ride and can't believe they are not available any more. Any specifics on the Eli conversation KKAAAR? Is Eli moving his shop to the west coast or just shutting down?

Very satisfied customer just hoping it is temporary.

Back to the original question… Short answer with 35's go straight to 4" IMO.

I think you will find that you'll want more than 3" with 315's. Bumpstops should be dropped to prevent rubbing thus limiting your up travel.

I started with 2" IronMan springs and ended up adding 30mm spacers at all corners. Although I don't have the constant load rears. Don't remember the part number off hand but what ever ones are rated for 660lbs over stock. They were listed as the longest springs so I went that direction as they also matched my vehicle weight at the time. I have since added a rear bumper and probably some other minor stuff. I have the heavy fronts. Ride quality has been good with the foam shocks.

Down side to this set up has been the higher speed stuff in the desert. I blow through the up travel pretty fast. I've added Timbren's at all four corners and that helped considerably. But in the end I'd like more travel.

Fast forward 4 years, I want the heavy Slee 4" springs. At 7000lbs with the family and minimum gear thats the best choice IMHO with 35's. And Slee's shocks if I can swing it.

Eli is in the west coast.. No camel4x4 as of now.. He still have some stuff in stock.. I asked him to email his inventory and I'll pass it along to you guys..

I can chime in here for experience. I started out with an OME 2.5 in. "medium" lift, front and rear.

Eventually got an ARB and then a winch... that's when the medium front was not enough, it i had a good stink bug look.

So i upgraded the front to a J spring and also swapped out the yellow 2.5 degree bushings for some slee "blue" supposedly 3 degree bushings and used land tank's template to press them in. That was a very good ride. The J' front spring and the medium rear spring, with a rear bumper/tire carrier rode very nice.

Ran that set up for about 10 years. Finally, as i started going on more and more trips and started packing more gear, the rear was just overloaded.

Recently swapped to a slee 4 inch lift with the progressive coils in the rear.

It's very stiff when unloaded... but i knew that. That is what i sacrifice... because when it's loaded it is an absolute dream.

So I'm thnking I will do the OME 850J/863 combo. Are there any shocks besides the OME stuff that is less or the same price? A firm ride is fine with me. Steering stabilizer? What else is needed or recommended for this spring combo? I have caster covered.

I don't recall if it was ironman or tjm that have a foam shock option. That would be interesting to see how you felt about those. I haven't really read anything bad about them.

IronMan has the foam option. I have them but nothing to compare them to other than the OEM's they replaced.

I run the same OME 850/860 springs. Heavy front, medium rear. This gives me a level stance. I've installed a winch in my stock front bumper, and usually run around with the 3rd row removed

I have 850/860's, no armor or 3rd row seats, & my rig has a slight stinkbug. I wonder why you have a winch up front & your level but I have no add. weight & mines ass high???

How much rake do you have?

As measured at the end of my sliders, there is a 1" rake (about 1 degree) which can hardly be considered stinkbug. My winch is an m8000 with synthetic rope and whatnot, and is likely the lightest setup possible.

With the 3rd row installed and load of people, the truck sits visually level.

Mediums front and rear with my regular load would net a 2 degree rake, which to me looks odd.

Thanks for pulling that across Dave!

Yes guys, we will still be operating in the US and North America. Currently whilst we go through our re-structure our stocks might be limited or unavailable, but rest assured you'll still be able to purchase our products in the near future!

It's great to hear all the support and loyalty for Ironman 4x4 here, and if anyone does have any questions in the mean time I'll do my best to answer them (be it via PM or on threads!).

Same building as Metal-Tech.....hmmmm

It also looks just like the past metal-tech update E-mails I have gotten.

Guess we know why they stopped offering deals on ARB parts mid last year.

Can someone educate me about Ironman? I don't get what all the hoopla is about. Is there something I am missing?

Its a entry level aftermarket parts manufacturer. There parts are usually cheaper than the other options and most 80 owners now a days are budget minded some times at the cost of quality.

I personally have see a few Ironman parts and some left a lot of room for improvement.

Nothing special. Pretty much on par with ARB maybe a slight step below now that much of the OME stuff is also coming out of China Typed poorly from my iPhone using IH8MUD

Quality-wise the only thing ARB makes that, IMO, is better than the Ironman products is their air lockers.
ARB bumpers are no different than Ironman, TJM, and others in build quality and the same can be said for a myriad of other "offroad" products all of these companies sell.
The cool thing is we now have another source for products and one who's known for phenomenal customer service (vs the previous US Ironman rep).

the ONLY thing i can add to this is i saw their front bumper on an 80 last year at the rubicon. The way it's bolted on it can "rotate" up if hit and will knock your flares off. I thought that was pretty silly, but that's about all i could say negative about the bumper. I have no knowledge or experience on there other products.
