So I did a little snow wheeling yesterday and got stuck. No big deal, dug it on out and was on my way. However, when I got stuck the front wheels weren't spinning at all. Rear locker works fine, but I felt like the rear was doing all the work. Any theories? Center diff issue perhaps? Thanks.

Oh and it's a ’99. All lights on the dash working as expected and I can hear the click of the actuator when I hit the center diff or put it in low.

or blown front diff perhaps?

but if centre diff or front diff was knackered, you'd get no drive at all without the centre diff locked. Are you sure the front wasn't just spinning in the snow?

If the front tires didn't spin and the rear tires did with the center diff lock button on, then I'll bet the diff didn't actually lock and the actuator is stuck but tried to work? Has it been a long time since it was used?

Your Trac control working at its best or what it thinks is best. My first time stuck in the snow before lockers. My spotter said at one point the engine would rev and the tires were not spinning. This happened to me a few times. Going into the obstacles with just a little more momentum helped.

No ATRAC on a '99. You said you can hear the center diff actuator, but did you have the truck in low and the center locked when you were in the snow? If you were in high then the open center would just send all the power to the spinning rear.
