Hello,

My wife is friends with people who do the "NM True" television show. Can you guys help me do a list of "off the beaten track" ideas for places people can visit in NM? All areas are on the table.

They need to be places that most people can achieve. Athletic or work to get there is ok. Not all options need to be offroading, could be a crazy restaurant in a crazy little town. Things that people can and would want to do.

Not looking for things I can only access with my buggy!

so like Visit the Trinity Site, the Original Owl Cafe.

To me, cruces basin on the Carson Forest is pretty amazing. Fs 87 from just north of tres piedras takes you past it, and out over cumbres pass
Any season is good, but fall w aspens is good, and winter on a sled is amazing. Detour over to Brazos cliffs, and Osher

All the big Pueblo and Ancestral Puebloan sites: Aztec, Chaco, Bandelier, Pecos NM, Salinas NM.
El Malpais, the lava tubes in Malpais, alpine lakes in the Pecos Wilderness, San Lorenzo Canyon north of Socorro, Bisti Badlands
Capitol Bar in Socorro, Los Ojos in Jemez Springs

Nice ideas. All have been jotted down.

Truth told, I had to look up "El Modelo", can't believe I've never been there.

El Malpais National Monument. Great day trip. Some easy walks, some longer more intense walks.

and along with that El Morro, just down the road. One of my favorite places

Nice, I had put El Malpais and El Morro on the list.
