Nice to hear from you all! Thanks for posting the map Landpimp! Cool that you've been to Northcape, haven't been there myself yet...

Not really that many old cruisers in this country, and definately not many legal areas to go offroading. But there is lots of beautiful scenery.

If any of you ever come here, you should let me know! Would be great to meet you!

Bergen and Oslo(in September is was 80degs) are about the same longitude at Washington State.......Trosmo is a great deal north however, pretty much up to the top.....

Pimp, I'd say you lucked out on the weather. Oslo, at latitude 59, is farther north than I am. It also has an average temp below freezing for 5 months of the year!

it was a warm spell do they told me........:)

Hey Vegard, do you have any more info or pics of this vehicle? Is he sprung over?

Well, it is mine, so yes ;)

It is not sprung over, I bought my suspension kit from www.parabolicsuspension.com Am very satisfied. The tires are fitted on stock Toyota 6x16 whitspoke. They keep the tires inside the fenders. When I turn fully over they will barely touch the springs. I think a 6-10 mm spacer will cure that. Unloaded these tires were just under 92 cm (36 inchres) in diameter. They will rub the inner fenders when the axle comes about 1-2 cm from the bumpstop. The weight of each tire (without rim) is 40 kgs.

The BJ75 became lazy with these tires, but the turbo I mounted has made it better, allthough I dont have much boost yet. An EGT is on its way now, when I get that installed I will experiment a little with boost and diesel amounts. I plan on installing a intercooler also, but this takes time and money... Today I was offered a pair of stock locking axles, hope I can afford them.

Don't have that many pictures, now I am back to regular winter tires (235/85-16) But you can find some pictures here:

Parabolics! How much lift did you get from them?

Thanks for the pics. Ooooh, this is so sweet:

Would spacers cause the tires to hit the outer fenders? The size is very similar to the old 9.00R16 Michelin XL's. Are they basically the same size?

How close are the front tires to the rear lip of the fender? Did you move the front axle forward?

Dave

I don't think the tires will hit the outer fenders with spacers. For sure not in the rear, and probably not in the front. But in the front the tires will probably be a little outside of the fenders with 10 mm spacers. (or -10 ET rims that is, origianl rims are 0 ET)

The front tires are very close to the rear lip... They have rub a little when I turn. It's just a matter some millimeters. This will be easyly cured with a hammer, without leaving any traces visible from the outside of the car.

The XZL's would have fit perfect if they were 3/4 of an inch smaller in diamaeter.

These tires are the 9.00R16, but 255/100-R16 is also written on the sidewalls.

how did you find the ride? the only parabolic setup i rode in rode real nice but floated like a boat and that didn't turn my crank at all. i think adjustable shocks could have sured that problam. i was just wondering if you felt the same thing with your setup?
cheers

I think it rides very nice (for a leaf sprung truck) but when loaded (500 kgs +) it floats like you say. It would probably help if I put in the last leaf, and put the stabilizer rod back on. Also my car was rather tall and narrow (because of the xzl's) when I had that experience. My shocks are adjusted to the softest setting, which is too soft. I will stiffen them some time.
