Such a cool thread. Note that in 1962 the truck was advertised for $2665 which is over $20,000 in 2013 dollars.

Not a bad investment if you bought one new and kept on the repairs. You could sell if for a profit even into days money. Bought a 68 for $1,700 in 1974. Was rust free then and still is. Sure I could make a few bucks today. I could have invested and made more money else where but not the same as enjoying driving your investment.

The online converters don't take into account for the inflated prices , taxes and duties that have increased in an unequal amount on automoblies since then....

An f150 back then would be inflated to the cost of an f150 today ... In 69 it would have been about 3400$ ... Translates to 22,000 today... You can not buy an f150 for that unless it fell off the transport truck and rolled over 10 times :)

This was a really cool thread to read. Since he put it on eBay I'm guessing it's ok to compare FJFJFJ's 1962 in terms of investments. Not sure what he had in it, but if it sold for $2665 51 years ago, and that equates to around $20,000 +/- today, the $70,000 plus bid on his cruiser was pretty awesome. Hope you make a bundle on it FJFJ. Then, when you're bored, come help me fix mine.

Ahahahah.
