Hi all, i`ve been lurking for a while looking through posts etc before i parted with my cash, well i`ve got her, she`s a`95 vx 4.5litre petrol with just short of 80,000 on the clock, full toyota service history i`m having it converted to Lpg to save on running costs here in the uk. The only fault i can find on it is that the a/c does`nt work, the clutch mechanism does`nt engage, the pulley goes round when the a/c isn`t turned on, as soon as you turn the a/c on the pulley stops turning and the belt just slips round the pulley ? any ideas ?

Grab the front plate of the clutch assembly and make sure you can rotate it by hand. If not, the compressor's seized. :(
If you can rotate it, then the belt may simply be too loose, or a tensioner/pulley may be seized.
Welcome, and let us know,

Welcome. I love the color. We don't see that color over here.

Nice, clean VX. As for the a/c issue, the clutch will not engage if the system is low on pressure. Find the cause of the leak, service the system and you should be golden.

I thought that could be the possible problem with the a/c after searching the forum, hope it is cos that`s the easiest fix ;)

Thanks for all the posts welcoming me to the forum :D

Welcome nice rig.:flipoff2:
What are those things sticking out from under the headlights?

Welcome :flipoff2:

Nice looking rig. You must feel like the king of the road over there on those small roads :)

I remember in some spots with the hedges feeling like I was driving on someone's driveway vs a road
