newbie with new bumper pics

Been watching from a far here for a bit but i am new to this site. Owned a 87 fj60 for 5 years, still own a fj80 with a few add ons and this is my pride a joy that I have wanted for years and damn if my wife didnt buy it for me for my wedding present. Hell of a woman.

Just finished this new bumper with a guy who lives here in charlotte and has a little custom business out of his house. He does most of the handy work, i come up with the ideas. He is awesome. If you like what you see i can pass his info along. he is actually a pretty hardcore D-90 guy but has also restored and owned a cruiser or two. I hope these pics show up.

Preciate it. I was really going for protection without limiting approach angle and a unique look. I liked a variation of Prerunner style too so this was the final product. Inside of the two Triangular sections are light tabs mounted so that you can mount a couple lights and they actually sit recessed back so they are totally protected by the bumper since it leans out.

If you interested in one, pm me an i will shoot you the guys info here. He saved all the specs in his database and can make one for anyone. I will have to check on price but i think it ran about 450-500. his little company is in fort mill,sc and its called Palmetto vintage customs.

i forgot to mention that price does include the winch mounting plate and black powder coating and the D-rings for recovery. it would be very easy to add high lift jack mounts on there as well.

yep, i pulled some of the creation off of that exact one you probably saw. Just modified a few things on there to make it better for sure.

it is DOM though. I can post what i know on the bumper. I think he had some challenges with getting all the bends perfect but he is a perfectionist so they are very tight and the welds look like tight caulk lines.

The only thing I would change, is the location of the d rings.
Pionting them downward, IMO would make them weak. And they kinda look like cheap U bolts.
Would be better to have then on the main support facing outward & not downward.
And in a thicker grade steel. They will & could get some heavy loads on them.

just my 0.2 worth.

But over all I like your bumper.

Are you going to tie in the ends to the frame, or continue them back for a "Fender Guard" I see things twisting if you run into something.......

Is it only tied into the front frame rail? Obviously I can't see how it's attached with those pics..

As far as tieing it into the sides, One of my next projects is to fab some sliders so i had thought about getting Jim at Palmetto Vintage customs to bend some tube once those are installed and connecting the two for that fender protection. Good call though.
