Hey everybody!
I posted this thread already in the tech section by accident but I guess that's why they call us newbies.
I have a 1966 FJ45 Wagon that is arriving next week from AU. It's a keeper and I'm looking forward to getting it back to original. It was an original Australian military vehicle so I guess I have to paint it green. I'm sure it hasn't seen much combat time so the resto should be fairly simple.
I'll be asking all sorts of questions I'm sure. I'm on a tight budget so I need to find some good deals or some creative solutions. I need interior parts and it seems like SOR.com is the only place to get them. I also need a good place for tires and rims since the split rims won't pass inspection.
Also, I have a 1978 FJ40 RHD I'm trying to unload to get some $$$ for the new project. $7500 or best offer. No rust underneath. Needs some love but in generally very good shape. I need to unload it to pay for paint, tires, upholstery, engine etc on the new bottomless money pit.
I'll post pics once I get it here and see what I'm actually dealing with. I've literally been losing sleep thinking of what I want to start first on it. It will be peice by piece for a few years. Exterior first so it will be a decent driver since it already runs well. Rebuild the engine in a couple years when my bank accounts recover.
Wish me luck!
John
