It's cheap and has relatively low miles. I'd check it out and see how rough the interior is. If you do check it out, you might want to get Edwin (LC Specialist on Buell St.) to check it out and do a compression check on it.

I'd pass and wait for a 1993-1997. They have a better engine with more horsepower/torque.

i'm with david. if i were looking for a newer cruiser i would go with a fzj-80. mostly all we ever do to one is inner axle seals, belts or EGR stuff. no major repairs really. in the pass 10 years we have done 3 maybe 4 headgaskets. not bad when you look and see how many there are out there.

i also like the 100's. i really like the v8 in them. all we ever do to them is the timing belts, water pumps & tune-ups. now we are replacing a motor in one right now but that is because the guy ran it low on oil.

good luck.

Yep, 100's are coming way down in price. They are comfy as heck, too. My wife really misses my old 100 :)

I like the look of the 100 as well if they are built up a bit. Stock they look like the biggest soccer mom rig ever.

I think the OP wants an "old school" cruiser look, so I'm not sure if the 100 fits that bill yet. To me the 80 does, but just barely. I'm biased though.

Unlike any other suv, land cruisers have legendary reps around the world. Soccer mom? I don't think so. Everyday I drive my 100 next to a disco or range rover or Tahoe. I say let's go to hell. I'll come back you wont.

You're never going to bag a soccer Mom with that attitude... ;)

Settle down Francis...

I said in my opinion they LOOK like a soccer mom rig if it is STOCK. :meh:

I agree with Edwin. Look for a 100. I've owned a 100 and an 80 and the 100 is vastly superior. Doesn't look nearly as cool as an 80, but it's an all around better truck. The price difference between a later 80 and earlier 100 isn't much. I wish we'd never swapped the 100 for the 80 we own now. It was done at my wife's insistence, and she now admits unloading the 100 was a big mistake.

I vote for a FJ62 - yes it totally not practical for real daily driving, but you will look cool! ;)

Sigh.... That's pretty much perfect to me. I'll take this as your offer to sell it to me for $100k. Whadayasay?
