Wished this LX had the 4WD that the 4Runner has, AWD, 4WD and 2WD options.

IMHO, the FT 4wd system in the 80-Series is far superior in all around driving than any of the selectable 4wd systems.

Thinking of 285's and ARB it with winch. 12K seems overkill and too much weight. Thoughts?

The Warn 12k is the winch of choice if you wheel the truck. If it is for show then get a smaller winch. If you want a good looking front bumper that is primarily for wheeling then look at the Slee Shortbus bumper. It accepts the Warn 9.5

Holy cow! I would have a hard time driving that thing, that is a collectors item. Enjoy!

Long story, but essentially owned by a gent that traveled a lot and had his housekeeper drive it 50 miles a month to keep everything "well oiled". I checked the Lexus service records at the Lexus dealer and all came up good. Carfax showed nothing but verification of what I had learned from the PO, housekeeper and dealership. A buddy went with me (A1 mechanic) and checked everything out. We jumped in it and drove home 2300 miles in 40 hours cruising lots of 75mph and got 16-16.5 mpg. So far it seems like a new rig, nothing is worn or "old" yet. Had all the fluids changed once I got home, rotated the tires, and now is my DD. My 4Runner Limited is on the market and will be missed. You just put 25% of the total miles on that vehicle from a single trip. i would be reluctant to drive it to the grocery store. wait, no i wouldn't :flipoff2:

I thought I had done well when I snagged mine with 75k and lockers. 7k and lockers is unbelievable. in fact, if you hadn't put up pictures and the auction, i never would have believed you lol. GRATS!

I watched the auction for 3 days and never bidded, waiting to see if the price would get close to the "Buy It Now" price. When it was at $18,500 I knew it wouldn't last much longer and did the BIN ASAP. Next morning I called them and asked about the truck and flying in to pick it up. While I was talking to them a gent showed up with the money to buy it now and drive it home. "Day late and a dollar short" as my Dad would say.

I put a winch on to use it. Have had 3 Warns over the past 20 years and loved them all. I fish in BC mainly and travel into high mountian lakes, usually with my F250 Super Duty 4x4 but would like to give this LX a try. At my age I want a few more comforts then the Ford has. As a boater I carry PFD's for emergency use, as an offroader I carry a winch for the same reason.

Thanks everyone for the kind words. Sometimes I wondered if I had done a good thing or having a "senior moment" as my wife would say. She loves the LX and considered selling her Volvo S60T to drive it. I aired the tires up to 50#'s and let her drive it a week. She said it rode too harsh for her tastes.:D

That is very nice indeed! Awesome rig I must say! Welcome aboard and I hope you'll like your stay here in the forums.

Thats pretty quick thinking on the tire pressure. Great buy on a soon to be hard to find classic. It'll be a while before you hit 200k.

Great looking truck!!

A quick trip to Tahuya ORV up by Bremerton will wash all that silicone off :grinpimp:.

Greetings from a fellow WA Mudder!

I remember seeing that rig on ebay, very nice find, I figured it almost was to good to be true but I guess not, anyhow welcome:flipoff2:

That's got to be the lowest mileage rig I've ever seen and it's locked too! Nice find.:flipoff2:

Man, that is SICK! Congrats on a BEAUTIFUL truck!

congrats

I wondered if we would find out who got that one. I had a verbal agreement and credit card deposit on that truck. Needless to say, I was a little pissed when the dealer reneged on my deal, especially since they had debited my CC.....that dealer is not an honest person. But alas, I found an immaculate 80K mile 97 for $10k less that I had agreed to pay for the LX, so I guess everything happens for a reason. Congrats on a beautiful truck, and enjoy.
