New Year Meet - who can make it Feb 11th @ 6 pm

Been texting around and we seem to have a few people here sporadically posting.

Saturday Feb 11th. 6 pm Qualicum Beach
FERN & CEDAR BREWERY

So I’m asking @crustyBJ60 @eknomf @cruisedeisel @seapotato @Diesel Cruiserman
Need idea how far people want to travel but I’m trying to be neutral. Fern and Cedar is in Qualicum Beach.
Easy 3-4 min off the highway. Thats an even trip from say Nanaimo and Courtenay. It’s a brewery,
kitchen closes at 8 pm but it’s open until 10. This would be 2 hr trek for Victoria people, but hope maybe
some are ambitious.
One of the topics I’d like people to think about is finding a beach or river side spot we could have a weekend
fire and BBQ. Family friendly get together kind of thing.

I'd like to join, but won't be able to at this point until after the 2nd, as wife is away so I'll be taking care of teh kidz. Also, I'd suggest getting some wheeling in if possible earlier in the day for those interested. Makes the drive more worth it, lol.

I’m going to head up south of Woss in the next day or two. Scout out something in the 60.
Maybe find open backroads.

I'd love to come, but have been circling the drain energy wise. I've also got one kid who has deteriorated to the point that I'm tracking down a wheelchair because crutches are not longer enough for him to get to his classes. Unfortunately, I can't see how I can make a meeting plus an additional 4 hours driving work this month.

I hate to be a downer, but I don't think I can make it regardless of the day.

He and I would love to join for some sort of family outing in the future. He loves the woods, and has had to discontinue the hiking group he joined in September because his body seems to be falling him. Unfortunately, his adventuring is going to be restricted to what he can do on wheels for the foreseeable future.

Weather Alert! If anyone wants to get outside for a while, this is the last weekend to enjoy above freezing temps

I'll aim to make it out, but not the best advance planner at the moment. Generally weeknights (except most of next week and every tues) work for me, or evening weekends also usually good.

So maybe lets look at 7th thru 12th. Seems like it would be cool to have a trail ride beforehand, so I'm leaning towards
the weekend. More relaxing. If anyone knows of trails out behind Errington area, I can look up Hwy 4 by then.

Lets see how many Cruisers we can get into the parking lot. I’ll be there early
probably, Qualicum is small and be nice to park and walk around before.

Glad to have her along! I'll probably get there early and be wandering the mean streets of Qualicum.

My plan: Saturday morning I’m gonna head up to Horne Lake Caves Rd. Past the park
and loop around back of Mt Mark and come out near Cook Creek Road. I think I can
connect with Cochrane R back into Qualicum. This is probably easy tour drive. I’m gonna
have the 60 and will have enough ability to make coffee along the way.
Starting at Trees Restaurant 1385 Alberni Hwy, Parksville at 8 am opens for breakfast.
Go from there. Anyone want to come along that’s the schedule.
Driving this loop is only a couple - three hours from what I’m told. So no rush.
