New Water Storage Idea: Feedback Requested

I've recently begun thinking about water storage for long trips and was thinking of two different ideas that I figured the community would have some opinions on:

1. Modify the tailgate to accommodate a custom bladder with plumbing to a bib/spout/port next to the license plate. Pressurize with onboard air source (ARB Compressor) Maybe get 3-4 gallons in there?
2. Modify an LRA 40 Gallon Aux tank to have two sealed chambers (30 fuel/10 Water), Use custom industrial bladder with hose bib on the bumper for filling and use. Same pressurization design leveraging the onboard air source.

Thoughts, concerns?

seems like both will we big undertakings.
1 - building something to fit the tailgate will have a custom shape, with a lot of joints for potential leaks?
2 - dissecting an LRA, modifying, and ensuring gas/water wont mix? are you wanting potable water? All the bad things that could happen if water gets into your gas and then that gas gets into your engine. I think someone had found AUS tanks that come standard with dual compartments... I'll try to find and post up.

3 - this is how I carry 10 gallons to the beach. It may not meet your needs, and it puts weight at a high center of gravity, but it's the most simple and easy way I came up with. only 2 joints to glue up, and lots of options to self-pressurize or use compressor.

I think these plastic/fiberglass things just have a limited service life. For $250 a spin you can afford to get 3-5 years out of one and then move on. I use mine for four days every winter (snow trips) and it's made it 7 years, but I don't think it has too many more years in it, maybe 3? I...

With enough effort, the tailgate could work. It wouldn't be my first choice for water storage for a few reasons: 1) weight in far aft of chassis and tailgate operation 2) convoluted void 3) plumbing fittings compatible with tailgate operation

If I were to do this, I'd consider a few places along the frame.
1) The passenger side frame on the LC, between the frame and step, has a relatively long and unobstructed space for a long narrow storage tank. Weight carried low and centered as well.
2) Just aft of the rear tires, outside of the frame, underneath the bumper covers, has relatively large voids that accommodate a custom tank.

several Aussie manufacturers already make fuel/water combos. Just import one of those.

Check reviews on the combined fuel/water tanks. Don’t appear to be highly recommended.

I tried every method over the decades and I found the best method overall, taking everything into consideration is carrying plastic jerry cans secured inside the vehicle as far forward as possible. Nothing fancy but for me it was definitely the best way.

Here’s an alternative that’s super simple...if you decide not to fully commit...

Zero maint., 5 gallons at a time of ambient (or heated)...always available, simple gravity, warms a bit it the sun on its own... Super handy even in town at the beach for rinsing the dog, etc.

Also helpful is the ability to fill them off-vehicle when needed... access for cleaning, etc.

In combination with a Kariba, hot water and shower head pressure are both available.

Pretty sure all Scepters are made in Canada. Both my Water Can and my Fuel Can are made in Canada.
