Hey everyone, as the title says just recently bought a 75 FJ40. It needs some work and new parts, but it’s slowly coming along. Figured I’d start a thread of the truck and work.

Welcome… so what else is on the drawing board? I’m thinking summer will be filled with body work? What’s the wiring like? Engine? Drive train? My ‘75 is a May ‘75 production…there are a few here I’ve noticed are pretty close in number

I think it needs 35s, a spring over and an ls...

Aside from the cut outs the body is somewhat solid, though finding holes here and there still. The wiring is iffy, not a nightmare yet. She starts right away, but seems to be an issue with either the carb or possible vacuum line, I think anyways and I’m not a mechanic. Just trying to get what’s needed for safety to put her on the road. Have a bunch of new parts coming, but shipping is very slow.

Kinda like chess…you gotta think 4 moves ahead. When I did my Sniper install I had everything I needed. Or so I thought. Then a few very inexpensive parts held me up a week or more waiting for stuff to arrive. When I’m on a roll, that just destroys my momentum. Then when other life choices pop up, I get distracted

DMV documents? What’s on there
