Hi All, I've owned an 80 for the past 8 yrs, and before that a Mini. I recently picked up a 2007 GX470, 75k mi, local one owner no accidents and all services done at the Lexus dealer right on time. The GX was one of my "bucket list" vehicles, and so far it is exceeding our expectations!

I've been reading many of the older threads here, and typical for 'Mud there's a ton of great info - thanks to those who so willingly share their knowledge.

I have no intention of going crazy with the GX - would like to retain the posh, but will move to coils if/when the air suspension goes. I intend to take it to the beach (OBX, NC) and explore forest roads/bunny trails in the Western NC mountains. Sliders are likely in the immediate future, along with tires.

Speaking of the beach, I found some ridiculously deep and soft sand on Ramp 67 at Ocracoke Island this weekend, and buried it. :( Tried all the tricks to get out, incl a yank from a FS Bronco, but it wouldn't budge. Finally a guy with a Ram and a bridle was able to pop us out.

Anyway, hi. ;)

Did you put yellow laminX on the foglight covers? Good looking truck!

Hi IanB, I did, and it looks cheesy as hell imho so it's coming off this week. I have some clear Lamin-X enroute, along with some quality yellow bulbs - I really prefer the yellow output and I only use the fogs when really needed.

Agreed, there's too much lense there, it looks off. I've seen other vehicles done that way that pulled it off. What bulbs are you going with, I've been considering the same thing myself.

8 pounds in the tires would have gotten ya through! :). Nice GX, welcome to the club! Also somewhat local so if you wander into north GA say hi!

IanB I am going to try some Optilux bulbs, they were relatively inexpensive and reviews say they have a nice rich yellow color. I'll post up after I get them.

Dan, I was at 15lbs; the GX was just buried, it wouldn't have mattered. O well. BTW we met several years ago at an Upstate Cruisers ride out of Cullowhee when you had Avocado - that thing was a beast! And I totally dig your GX and the trails you're blazing with modifications.
