Making progress,

Got the rims and tires mounted. Went with 285/70/17 KO2s. Also put on new drilled/slotted rotors all around with Carbon Ceramic pads. Obviously it rubs like hell but some plastic trimming and suspension should help fix that.

Also scored a Expedition One rear bumper. Left over from a totaled 4runner at my buddys shop so he is going to try and mount it on the GX on Monday!

Hey everyone!

So I have been a member for a while, owned (And Built) a few different LC variations... a 1994 LC (Sold), 2004 GX470 (Sold), 1998 LX470 (Sold), 2016 GX460 (Sold), 2019 LX570 (Totaled), 2023 LX600...and now a 2011 GX460!

103k Miles, one owner, maintained regularly at the dealer. A little rough around the edges in terms of the cosmetics but I don't mind as it is basically becoming an adventure vehicle!

I just wanted to say hello again and that this will be getting a lot of work done to it in the near future and wanted to document it with me fellow LC crew! Looking forwarding to Wrenching on this and sharing my progress with everyone.

Coming up:
ICON Suspension
Wheels/Tires (Icons and Toyo open country's most likely)
Armor
Lighting
Spare Tire Solution
Dual Battery/Compressor Setup
and so on...

Welcome to the GX build club. I just got a 2011 GX last month. Super clean and well maintained. Just put Icon in, Methods and Wildpeaks on the wheels, and new RCI sliders, put to the task yesterday. Prinsu rack and Baja's on the way....

Congrats on your new rig and welcome to the forum!
Looking good so far! Keep the pics coming.

I love the white, I wanted that but found this and it was a good deal.

Unfortunately I've decided to sell my GX even though I just bought it recently. I purchased it before my move to Idaho and now that I have moved I am realizing that I need a truck. The GX is currently in Phoenix but will be shipping it to Idaho in about a month or so.

Just spent $10k on the GX in service and upgrades.

2011 GX460
103k Miles
Icon Stage 2 - $3,800
RCI Sliders (On Order - awaiting delivery) $900
All Fluids and Lube as well as New Powerstop Drilled and Slotted Rotors and Carbon Ceramic Pads - $1500
5 x 285/70/17 KO2 on SCS F5s - $3000
Auxbeam 8 gang Switch with Auxbeam lights - $250
Brand New Lithium X2 Deep Cycle Battery with 4 year replacement - $500

Asking $33,900 so I can break even put cash towards a truck

Too bad you're getting rid if your GX. I was thrilled to possibly have another modified GX460 up here in north Idaho.

You may want to try and sell it AZ though. I live in north Idaho like I said and our GX460's aren't really peoples' go-to for off-roaders here. It's Taco and 4R country up here. I stand pretty much alone as the only modified GX460 with an Idaho plate I've seen up here in the year I've been up here. I suppose you could try your luck selling it around the Boise or Spokane metro areas but you may have better luck selling it down south.

I was trying not to but in the last couple weeks ive had to rent a trailer from uhaul 5 times to haul stuff for work and it will be a regular occurrence and picking up a travel trailer soon and the GXs 6500lbs towing capacity is just not enough. Im sure I will end up with another one soon and to be honest I wouldn't sell it if I had the room.

And I still have the LX thats going to get some upgrades so at least you wont be the only modified lexus in north idaho. Lol

Good luck trying to squeeze it between trees and rocks on some of those PNW trails!
My first overlander I built was an F350 crewcab. Aside from it being ridiculously long, It was way too wide also for many of the trails in our local mountains.
In the desert it was fine!
