With the help of my wonderful wife, we got the sliders mounted up last night!

Wow, I've been really neglecting this thread... To be honest, I've added WeatherTech digi mats and that's about it. The sunroof is still leaking but I removed the garnish and now what few drops I get goes back into the tray. I have noticed my cargo area is wet after a heavy rain but I really think it's because I haven't washed the thing since Oct. and pine needles are getting between the seal and the body. However, she fires up every day and is still comfy to tow with. Just finished a 600+ mi trip last weekend with the trailer in tow to drag home a new project:

Cool FJ! Also enjoyed reading about your tow setup. I have been flat towing my Jeep with an Avalanche, but I really want a 100 series. Glad to hear that somebody is towing their trail rig with a 100.

Washed and starting to get rid of the gold. I'm still not sure what I want to do with the L...

Sent from my Galaxy S III using IH8MUD app.

Plastidip the emblems. It's a reversible process if you don't like the look. Pick up a spray can at Home Depot and watch some youtube vids.

Workin' on it! I did happen to slice the sidewall on 2 of my Duratracs and pop off all of the clips that hold the bottom part of my front bumper off...

Damn! (note to self: avoid sharp rocks with my Duratracs)

What tires are you getting to replace them? The more I see Kevlar MTRs the more I like them.

I found a couple of Duratracs used in my size on CL for $150, so I will be running those for now. I'm not sure what tire will replace them but I will for sure be going back to a 16" wheel...

Perfect solution for now!

Well it would have been. Both of the tires I bought had pinholes in the sidewall... :bang:Luckily the guy I bought them from seems to be a stand up guy and is going to give me my money back. Unfortunately I had to buy a couple used BFG's from Schwabs to get be back on the road.:mad::mad:

However, they did have a set of 16" Land Cruiser wheels that they may be willing to trade me for my chrome LX wheels... Maybe I'll just buy a set of 285/75R16's like I wanted to do down the road and be done with this crap.

I thought about PlastiDip... It kinda depends on what direction I go with the rest of the truck. Personally, I would love to have stock chrome L's but I'm not spending what the stealership wants for them! LOL.

Found some chome-ish colors:

I'm thinking about plastidipping the wheels on my 80 since they're pitted and caked with brake brake dust.

Cool thread. I just picked up an '02 LX470 2 nights ago. Super clean, but thinking I need to get up there and make sure the sunroof drains are cleaned. Keep up the good work! :D

You might be able to buff the gold emblems down to the nickel plating with aluminum polish. It won't be exactly like the OE chrome but it won't be gold either.
